Bit of a late start to the Sunday chat this week, but better late than never!  Let's dive into your questions
Richard
8:42
Where will Clevinger be come September 1st?
Mark P
8:43
Cleveland.  I'm obviously not privy to what is happening within the Tribe's clubhouse, but unless Clevinger/Plesac have passed "point of no return" status, I doubt a trade will happen for either guy.
Farhan
8:43
I should still sell everything I can at the deadline, right? Even if Giants are technically “in the playoff hunt”. I should learn from last year, right?
Mark P
8:44
(Giants front office head Farhan Zaidi)

Yes and no.  It's not like the Giants didn't still benefit from keeping Bumgarner and Smith at last year's deadline, since both resulted in qualifying offer draft picks.  I could see SF trying that same approach of both buying and selling to some extent, maybe trying to land another young asset like Dubon
AA
8:44
Ian Anderson starting Tuesday? It’s time for the top prospect to get a Chance right
Mark P
8:45
Signs seem to be pointing towards Anderson debuting on Tuesday.  With Anderson pitching and Acuna possibly returning, that's a big one for the Braves
Paul
8:46
Where can the Angels find pitching. I would hate to trade Fletcher.
Mark P
8:46
Fletcher isn't even arb-eligible until 2022, so I think he is one of the last players Anaheim would consider trading given all the value he's providing both production-wise and payroll-wise.
8:47
In terms of adding arms, the Halos might have to offer young talent, but it's also a question of whether they'll even be buyers or not

8:48
Who deserves the most blame for phillies 9-14 record??? Players, GM, Owners
Mark P
8:48
Their bullpen deserves most of the blame
JR
8:48
Do you think the Red Sox will try and move Bogaerts before his full NTC kicks in?
Mark P
8:49
Nope.  Bogaerts is a cornerstone player for them, and the Sox aren't undergoing a full teardown.
GMDM
8:49
Dayton Moore here, should I trade the surplus relief pitchers for a promising outfielder?
Mark P
8:51
Wow, Dayton Moore!  I'm always amazed at how many general managers ask me questions during these weekly chats!

If another team makes a decent offer for Rosenthal or Holland, sure.  I'd probably hang onto Barlow and Staumont unless another team offers the moon and stars for either.
Ryan
8:52
The Redsox should just blow it up at this point.
Mark P
8:53
Considering we've seen Red Sox ownership fire World Series-winning GMs for not contending every single year, I doubt the owners would allow a full rebuild
Kretin
8:53
The Angels have to sell, right?
Mark P
8:54
I'd lean towards selling, but with an eye towards contending in 2021 (likely under a new general manager).  There's no sense in blowing up a team with this much talent still on it, especially with two all-world stars in Trout and Rendon
John
8:55
Mychal Givens for sure traded at the deadline? He’s been lights out so far
Mark P
8:55
I'd lean towards Givens being dealt, yes.  Though with the O's also in the playoff race, I could see them adopting a 2019 Giants-esque strategy of buying and selling.

should MLB change the rules?  And not always award a pitcher a win?  So a closer blows a save, team comes back and wins, why does that pitcher who screwed the game get a win? Like Melancon last night? Blew the save and game after a great comeback but gets the win?  It’s silly.  Maybe sometimes you don’t award a win?
Mark P
8:56
I'm fine with abolishing the win entirely.  It's a pointless statistic.
Charlie Midnite
8:57
My prediction is the Red Sox will trade JD Martinez.  Im looking for an OF and SP. Young and controllable.
Mark P
8:58
JDM is a difficult player to move given the amount of money left on his contract.  (He also has a three-team no-trade clause, though that's not a major obstacle.)
Billy InEppler
8:59
Jo Adell a bust?
Mark P
8:59
It's been 13 games, for pete's sake

Dylan Bundy, Lance Lynn, Johnny Cueto. Which one do you think has the best shot of being a Brave on August 31st?
Mark P
9:00
Most likely to be a Braves trade acquisition?

Bundy (33% | 228 votes)

Cueto (41% | 283 votes)

Lynn (26% | 180 votes)

Total Votes: 691
9:01
Not to juice the poll numbers or anything, but Lynn seems like the least-likely of the trio to be moved.
Drew
9:01
Lance Lynn and prsopects for clint frazier, sanchez and James paxton
Mark P
9:02
Paxton seems an unnecessary addition but a Gary Sanchez/Clint Frazier offer would definitely get the Rangers' attention.  Not sure if the Yankees would make such an offer, however, unless they had another deal for a catcher already completed.
Scott S.
9:02
Do the Jays make any trades that will help them in the mid/long term? Specifically while Ryu is here.
Mark P
9:03
The Ryu signing was absolutely a signal that Toronto plans to contend sooner rather than later, though that doesn't necessarily mean they'll make a push for the 2020 playoffs specifically.
John
9:05
If Trevor Bauer does one year deals for his entire career, what would he be payed next season on a one year contract?
Mark P
9:06
It remains to be seen if Bauer will stick to this plan, given how COVID-19 has upended baseball's finances
For next year, obviously teams like the Yankees, Phillies, Dodgers would still have the money available to sign him as a one-year flier.
Drew D
9:07
Is there any truth to Dodgers/Rangers trade talk centered around Lynn? If so,  what package would it take to land him?
Mark P
9:07
I think some of this speculation comes solely from how the Rangers and Dodgers have been trade partners in the past (most notably for Yu Darvish) moreso than any direct info about Lynn.
