Hey everyone. We'll get going soon.
Reds
1:54
I know most of their win streak has been against the Pirates, but do you think they can take this momentum and sneak into the playoffs? It isn't like the wild card teams or even the 2nd team in the NL Central has taken charge
Connor Byrne
1:55
Sure. The NL is wide open & the Reds are pretty talented despite their struggles. I had them as the Central division winners entering the season (oops), so I'm not bailing on them yet.

Your Jon Gray prediction: traded, nontendered, or staying with the Rockies?
Connor Byrne
1:56
I think he'll stay. The Rockies should have sold high on Gray last offseason, in my opinion. Too late for that, obviously, but he's not expensive enough to quit on as a non-tender and it's not worth trading him when his value is down. They'll have to hope he rebounds and then, if the Rockies are out of it at the deadline, perhaps deal him (or, if he's pitching really well, keep him and make a qualifying offer)
Luis Robert
1:57
Do I still have a shot at ROY? (Still the most valuable rookie, btw)
Connor Byrne
1:57
Absolutely. Robert's not only having a very nice year offensively, but he has been very valuable as a defender

Who starts game 3 in a playoff series? Cease or Dunning?
Connor Byrne
1:58
Give me Dunning
Hi
1:58
Do the Giants have a shot at beating the Dodgers in a 3 game playoff?
Connor Byrne
1:59
I know people love to say "anything can happen in the playoffs," especially during a shorter series, but I doubt it. The Dodgers are too loaded. But it would be pretty impressive for the Giants to even make the playoffs, considering they were pretty much counted out before the season.
Favorites
1:59
Who's your favorite for NL and AL champs right now?
Connor Byrne
2:00
Dodgers and Rays
Expanded playoffs
2:00
This year it was OK but expanded playoffs during a 162 game season is an unmitigated disaster, agreed?
Connor Byrne
2:01
I've kind of warmed up to the concept of an expanded playoffs going forward, and it shocks me to say that because I've always been vehemently against it. I guess it doesn't hurt to keep more teams in the hunt from start to finish and keep fans interested.
For those who missed it, commissioner Rob Manfred seems to want the expanded playoffs to continue: https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2020/09/mlb-rob-manfred-expanded-playof...

Do other good team's fans constantly berate their manager online? Or are we just too new to this?
Connor Byrne
2:02
I think it's universal
Josh
2:02
Can you see the Twins signing Trevor Bauer this offseason?
Connor Byrne
2:02
If Bauer sticks to looking for a high-paying one-year deal, I could see a lot of teams in on him, including the Twins

What are your thoughts on Devin Williams chances for NL ROY and/or reliever of the year?
Connor Byrne
2:04
He's at least been a top 5 rookie in the NL. I've been doing ROY power rankings for MLBTR members & I've consistently had Williams around No. 3 over the past few weeks. 18.45 K/9, 0.45 ERA. Are you kidding me?
NL MVP
2:04
Freddie, Mookie or Nando?
Connor Byrne
2:04
Tatis, but Freeman's making a serious charge

Thanks for hosting.  I'm not a Marlins fan in the slightest, but after watching their starting pitching against my team (Braves), I have to say they should be trending up.  Sixto Sanchez...what an asset!  I am generally skeptical of highly rated pitching prospects because of the attrition rates, but my first exposure to his arsenal, I am impressed.  Any thoughts on him or the rest of the potential 2021 rotation...Sanchez, Alcantara, Rogers, Hernandez, and Garrett (2 LHPs and 3 RHPs)?
Connor Byrne
2:07
Thanks to you and others for reading/participating. I agree about the Marlins' staff. They're definitely building something good there. Sanchez looks absolutely great, Lopez/Elieser/Alcantara have been quite good as well. They really don't need much in that regard.
Go Os

Thoughts on Ryan Mountcastle as a piece of Orioles rebuild?
Connor Byrne
2:08
Definitely someone worth building around. He's not going to keep up a .411 BABIP, but he still looks like a keeper
NL Cy Young
2:08
deGrom, Bauer, or Darvish?
Connor Byrne
2:09
deGrom's my pick right now, but we'll see how his start tonight goes
Take me back to 2008
2:09
Is Klentak out in Philly after this year? They already sacrificed fall guy Kapler and he’s possibly taking an undeniably worse roster into the playoffs.
Connor Byrne
2:09
I'd probably let him go if they miss the playoffs,
Catch as catch can
2:10
Can Sox afford to bring back McCann?  Can they afford not to?
Connor Byrne
2:11
I think James McCann will find a richer deal elsewhere, especially with the FA class of catchers looking pretty weak. The White Sox have Grandal to fall back on, so I don't think they'll spend big on McCann
Derek Fisher
2:12
Am I actually an MLB worthy player?
Connor Byrne
2:13
There's hope. I know he's a replacement-level player so far, and I know everyone's on him for his gaffe last night, but he's at least showing some good things at the plate this season
2:14
universal DH could do him some favors if TOR doesn't keep him
weaver
2:14
honestly, where do the Angels go from here? Offseason-wise..
Connor Byrne
2:15
I think GM Billy Eppler's a goner. Other than that, they'll have to decide on Andrelton Simmons and what to do at catcher. And as always, pitching will need to be addressed. If the Angels want to punt next season, though, shopping Bundy would make sense
2:16
not saying they should punt, by the way. Trout and Rendon are on your team, and both are amazing. Time to start winning already.
