Hey everyone, the postseason is upon us! We'll get going shortly.
AJ
6:00
Wild Card predictions?
Connor Byrne
6:01
I'll take the A's and the Nats.
Ryan
6:01
Which of the wild card teams has the best chance to win it all?
Connor Byrne
6:01
The Nats, i suppose. Scherzer-Strasburg-Corbin is hard to top.

6:02
what other managers do you have on the hot seat
Connor Byrne
6:02
Kapler and Callaway
Jeff

I’m a Padres fan. Can you please explain to me what this “post season” is that you speak of? In San Diego, we are not familiar with this term.
Connor Byrne
6:03
As a fan of the Buffalo Bills and Sabres in the NFL/NHL, I'm not all that familiar with it either.
Overbearing Padre
6:03
We know the biggest free agents of the offseason. Who do you suspect are the most likely big-name position player trade chips this offseason?
Connor Byrne
6:04
Seems like Betts could go. Maybe Bryant and/or Lindor. And he's not a position player, but Syndergaard has been in trade rumors since last winter, so he's another possibility.
Mets
6:04
Which team with a losing record is most likely to make the playoffs next year?
Connor Byrne
6:05
Maybe the Angels if they ace the offseason.
Pedro Cerrano
6:05
Peolple tend to give a WS prediction Dodgers and Astros. Another prediction is insane?
Connor Byrne
6:06
Definitely not insane. The playoffs are really tough to predict.
Tigers fan
6:06
Where do you think maddon and hurdle end up?
Connor Byrne
6:07
Wild guess on Maddon: Philly (assuming Kapler goes). I don't see Hurdle getting another managerial job this offseason.
Romo
6:07
If your Eppler and you have $40 million to spend this off season how do you upgrade your team?do you go all out and trade prospects for pitching help?
Connor Byrne
6:08
Gerrit Cole would be my #1 target in Angels GM Billy Eppler's shoes. Will he also explore trades? Sure. But Eppler has tried to build that farm system back up, so whether he'd part with notable pieces from there is in question.
Alex
6:08
Do you think Larry Rothschild is on the hot seat if the Yankees don't make it to the World Series? He's been with the team for quite a long time now.
Connor Byrne
6:09
Would throwing the pitching coach under the bus accomplish anything? Rothschild's well-respected, and it's not his fault the Yankees have dealt with injuries to guys like Severino and Betances.

6:10
Will the Cubs spend big for Cole or Rendon (with Bryant moving to RF), or spread their available money around several mid-range free agents?
Connor Byrne
6:10
I'll be pretty surprised if the Cubs end up with either of those guys.
Rockies Fan
6:10
Is Bud Black or even Jeff Bridich on the hot seat?
Connor Byrne
6:11
It doesn't seem the Rockies' manager or GM will be going anywhere (no reports that I know of to the contrary, at least). I don't trust Bridich to right the ship there, though.
Brandon
6:11
Do teams have to wait until after the world series to sign a new manager, or is that rule just for players?
Connor Byrne
6:12
No, you can hire a manager whenever (unless he's on a playoff team's staff; then you'd have to wait untli his team's done)
OOPS
6:12
Who paid Stantons salary this year, the Yankees or insurance,,,or ?
Connor Byrne
6:12
The Yankees
Brian
6:12
Do u think Charlie Manuel would be a candidate for Phillies manager position?
Connor Byrne
6:13
I doubt it very much. He's 75 years old.

Connor Byrne

Well said.
Hensley Meulens
6:13
Is this the year I get a major-league managing job?
Connor Byrne
6:14
I'd like to see it happen. Meulens, the Giants' bench coach, has been a rumored candidate for a few offseasons, but he hasn't gotten a shot yet. He's a well-respected, accomplished assistant, and it doesn't hurt that he's bilingual.

6:15
Is there any manager that might best fit for the Padres' mix of veterans and young players as the Padres hope to make the playoffs in 2020?
Connor Byrne
6:15
Maddon seems like someone they should aggressively court.
Reds fan
6:15
Is David Bell on the hot seat?
Connor Byrne
6:15
Not yet. Maybe if the Reds have an aggressive offseason but don't make any real strides next year.
