Hey everyone. First Wednesday chat in quite some time. We'll get going in a few.
Rick Hahn
1:54
Obviously early in the process, but give me two Starting Pitchers that would be ideal fits for the Southside.
Connor Byrne
1:55
You're talking about the offseason? Trevor Bauer on a high-paying one-year deal (if he actually sticks to that) would be ideal for anyone. Stroman will also be out there. A reunion with Jose Quintana could make sense. I like him as a buy-low candidate off an injury-wrecked season.
FriarLounge

Is Clevinger, Lamet, and Davies the current top 3 of an NL Playoff rotation?
Connor Byrne
1:56
It's very hard to top that. Dodgers are loaded with SP depth, though, and the Reds will be formidable if they make a miracle run
Same goes for the Nats, though they look done
1:57
Oh, and the Cubs with Darvish and Hendricks leading their rotation
Joe Girardi
1:57
Can the Phillies stay hot and make a run even with more games than days left in the season? Asking for a friend...
Connor Byrne
1:58
They're a playoff team as of now and the Braves have flaws, so sure. Only a 1.5-game difference right now.
Rangers29
1:58
The Rangers need to get Kumar Rocker, but what else does this team NEED to do over the next year?
Connor Byrne
1:59
Shop Lance Lynn, but if they keep him, improve their terrible offense. Hello, George Springer?
Brian
1:59
Do you think the Yankees will move on from Gardner  and Sanchez this off season?
Connor Byrne
2:00
Yeah, I think Gardner's gone (or at least back for a far lower salary). Sanchez, not sure. If they splurge on Realmuto, then sure.
The Mor you Neau
2:00
Does Cruz get any MVP love?
Connor Byrne
2:01
I know it's just about impossible for a full-time DH to win an MVP, but I have Cruz way up there as an MVP candidate. Even without any defense, he's been one of the most valuable players in the game.
My AL MVP as of now is Shane Bieber, for what it's worth
Also very hard for a pitcher to win, but he's incredibly good
Pete Alonso
2:02
If the DH doesn’t stick around what do the Mets do with me and Smith?
Connor Byrne
2:02
Find room for both. The slimmed-down Smith isn't unplayable in the outfield. I think DH will be there full-time after the new CBA even if it goes away next season.
Kyle Lewis
2:03
Am I the leading candidate for AL ROY?
Connor Byrne
2:03
He's my pick, but I'm going to fight anyone who takes Luis Robert instead
Lindor
2:04
Who would be interested in me this offseason, and what would it take to get me besides a willingness to pay my big arb salary?
Connor Byrne
2:04
Yankees spring to mind, especially if they lose LeMahieu. Multiple top 100-caliber prospects and probably a couple lesser pieces.
2:05
But if Lindor's actually on the block, lots of teams will be lining up
Jerry Dipoto
2:05
Do I have any trade pieces left for this offseason? Or have I traded everything worth any value at this point?
Connor Byrne
2:07
(Mariners GM Jerry Dipoto) - Marco Gonzales would have a lot of value, but I don't see him going anywhere. Otherwise, ehh. Kyle Seager's poison pill 2022 option kind of kills his trade value, even though he's still good.
Cubs
2:07
Bryant or Baez, who is more likely to get an extension?
Connor Byrne
2:07
Seems like Baez to me
Rangers29
2:08
IKF is hitting .302 with a .750 ops, and an ops+ of 105. Plus his terrific defense, is this sustainable?
Connor Byrne
2:09
Kiner-Falefa's strikeout rate is way down, which is great, but he still has zero power. His BABIP is also way up. I haven't looked at his Statcast #s, but I'm skeptical
Trader Jerry
2:10
So I've apparently traded everything of value (other than Marco, who isn't going anywhere), but we're only 2 games out of the WC. What gives??
Connor Byrne
2:11
It helps when Kyle Lewis shows up and is absolutely fantastic. Seager, Dylan Moore are having huge years. Crawford's having a respectable season
also, Justus Sheffield seems to be quite good alongside Gonzales
The Yankees would rather have Sheffield than Paxton right now, I'd say.
Bloom
2:12
Fast forward 3 years, do you like what I’m doing?
Connor Byrne
2:13
I think so. Red Sox chief baseball officer Chaim Bloom's a really smart guy. I find it hard to believe he'll fail in Boston.
MillarTime
2:13
Are the Jays ready to trade in the farm to get a young stud for a chance to win in 2021?
Connor Byrne
2:14
Define "trade in the farm." They don't really need to. They just need to keep supplementing their young talent, as they did last offseason with the Ryu signing.
Angels Fan
2:14
The Angels desperately need to sign Trevor Bauer. Has he previously expressed interest or non interest in any cities?
Connor Byrne
2:15
A good fit. Unless he goes against what he said before, it seems like he'll go to the place that gives him the best one-year offer.
