I'm all for the playoffs going by best record, not division. Same deal in the NFL where the Washington Football Team went 7-9 or whatever and won its division.

What does JBJ get per year?
Connor Byrne
2:52
Probably around $10MM
whether it's one or two years, we'll see

Now that Realmuto if off the board, I can insist on multiple top 5 prospects  for Contrares, correct?
Connor Byrne
2:53
I think Jed Hoyer could have insisted on that anyway. Contreras is extremely valuable.
(assuming you're talking about a given team's top 5 prospects, not top 5 prospects in the sport)
Twins Front Office

thoughts on the Simmons signing?
Connor Byrne
2:54
No problem with it. I kind of figured the Twins would add a shortstop.

Any rhyme or reason that 1B seems to be a thin position for top prospects?
Connor Byrne
2:55
Perhaps because teams think it's an easy position to fill and would rather try those prospects at other spots before having to resort to putting them at 1B.

Odorizzi, Walker or Paxson
Connor Byrne
2:56
Odo in a vacuum, but he'll cost the most. I'd rank Paxton above Walker.
Liam Hendricks
2:56
I'm the most over paid signing this off season by far right?
Connor Byrne
2:57
I was surprised he got 54MM, but 13.5MM per year is fine.
Rob

Is it me or does KC seem like a sleeper? They have some solid arms in the rotation along with some competent bats in the lineup?
Connor Byrne
2:58
They're getting better, but in terms of pushing for a playoff spot, not yet. Still well behind MIN, CHI and even CLE in that division.
Dexter
2:58
Do you see the Phillies targeting anymor SP/RP? If so, who do you think they would be?
Connor Byrne
2:59
They should. They still haven't done enough to improve either area. Rosenthal or someone like Jake McGee would make sense for the bullpen. There are still tons of affordable starters out there.

not thrilled with our inaction this season, but really, is Didi that much better--like $11M better-- than Rosario?
Connor Byrne
3:00
Depends on which A. Rosario you're getting. He was pretty good in 2019 but has otherwise been a letdown.
Didi was miles above him last season.

I actually have to wrap it up now to run the site for the evening. Thanks, everyone! Sorry if I couldn't get to your question. Talk again next time.
