Chances of the Brewers singing justin Turner

Milwaukee is apparently still interested in Turner, even after Wong has been signed. It would be a nice opportunistic move from the Brewers, perhaps as a move to take a step up in an overall (Arenado trade notwithstanding) quiet NL Central.

That said, I do kind of wonder if Turner is still bound for L.A. and the Dodgers will either take the luxury tax hit to re-sign him or make some other trade to lessen the tax bill

Will kris Bryant be traded? If so, where to?

Probably can't entirely write off Toronto or Atlanta, though their other moves have eaten up payroll space and even some positional space. I'd list the Brewers or White Sox as a dark horse but I doubt the Cubs would move him within the division or to their local rival.

The move for Bryant might be something we don't expect, some kind of creative swap of undesirable contracts (like today's A's/Rangers trade)

What are your thoughts on Dee Gordon as a bench option for the jays? Lefty bat that can play all over and has speed

Gordon hasn't been very good for a few years. The Jays can probably aim higher in their attempts to land bench help.

I wrote a big post last week about Marquez's trade value, and it is certainly high enough that the Rockies can and should ask for Adell as the headline piece.

Four years/$65MM isn't exactly "cheap" in my book. Considering his market seemed a little limited and (apparently) a lot of teams may have been scared off by his future-DH potential, a four-year guarantee like that strikes me as a pretty nice result for Ozuna and his camp

Is Lorenzo Cain available? That’s who I think the Mets should be looking at.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Brewers were open to getting Cain off their books, maybe as a way to free up some payroll space for Justin Turner.

Figuring out a proper trade fit could be tough, however. Cain is pricey, missed all of last season due to opting out, and didn't hit well in 2019.

Thoughts on the Andrus-Davis trade? Pretty odd deal for Oakland

I think it was a really interesting, creative trade that checks off a few boxes for either team. Andrus has more value to the A's than Davis would just by dint of being able to play the field, and obviously Oakland feels Andrus can get back on track with a change of scenery. Texas, meanwhile, gets some money off the books and better positions themselves for the future.

After the Joc Pederson mess last offseason, I kind of doubt the Angels are rushing to make any more trades with the Dodgers.

Teams say they make moves based on their own needs and own situations without focusing much on what others are doing....but let's be real, the Dodgers obviously took note of what San Diego was up to.

Bauer might well have been on the Dodgers' radar even if the Padres hadn't been as aggressive, though. The Dodgers have been exploring these kinds of shorter-term, higher-AAV deals for a few years now (most notably with Bryce Harper) and finally found someone in Bauer open to such a deal.

am I the only person that thinks the Reds would be better off rebuilding. Between covid and a likely strike in 2022 this would be a great time.

That would be a real blow to the fanbase, going immediately back into a rebuild after spending the previous several years reloading. The payoff of just a single wild card appearance in 2020 isn't exactly worth it for the long-suffering Cincinnati fans.

But overall, I agree that Minny/Chicago look like the top two in the division.

The Rays absolutely aren't done. No headline-type moves, probably, but they'll definitely still tinker with adding more roster pieces. Even after signing Archer, another SP is likely in the works
