Sorry for starting 5 minutes later than normal, but I was watching Clayton Richard throw a 3-hit shutout over the Phillies at Petco Park.

Time for Tommy Joseph to find himself back in AAA?
Jason Martinez
4:40
Probably not with rosters expanding in 2 weeks. I do believe that Hoskins will get the majority of time at 1B over the last month. Speaking of Hoskins, I got to see his 1st 3 MLB homers in person and watched him take a really bad angle on a line drive that he missed in LF. It led to 3 runs. Should be expected from the guy that started his LF career a week ago.

Ronald Acuna the #1 prospect in Baseball??? The kid is mashing every league he passes through!
Jason Martinez
4:41
He's making a case. Wouldn't be a surprise. At least Top 5.
Name that tune
4:43
Top 5 pitcher prospects in the minors?
Jason Martinez
4:44
I feel pretty good about these 4 being in the top 5 ... Michael Kopech, Brent Honeywell, Walker Buehler, Triston McKenzie. Too early to judge but Mackenzie Gore and Hunter Greene are probably in the mix.
Tim Beckham
4:45
Last week you said i was auditioning for a contract in Baltimore . Not to toot my own horn (toot toot) but have i earned a deal with the Orioles ?  If not who is Baltimore's opening day SS?
Jason Martinez
4:47
It's all you, man. Outside chance you're the 3B if they bring back Hardy and trade Machado,
Blake Parker
4:48
Why is no one recognizing the yera I'm having?
Jason Martinez
4:48
I recognized you as early as Opening Day when I tweeted about you recording something like 17 outs in a row by strikeout in Spring Training. I'd say your manager hasn't recognized how good of a season is having because he lets everyone but you get a save chance.

What off-season Sp options do the Mariners have?
Jason Martinez
4:50
If the 16 they've used this season ... https://www.rosterresource.com/mlb-rotation-depth-tracker/ ... I think they'll be counting on Felix, Paxton and Miranda. Maybe add one more (at least mid-rotation) starter via free agency/trade and then open up the last spot for competition.
Curtis Granderson
4:51
Do the Nats trade for me or another OF? Wil Myers?
Jason Martinez
4:53
I think Granderson would be a great fit. I can see that, although there probably isn't much urgency as long as they believe Harper will come back healthy for the playoffs.
Marco Estrada
4:54
Who am i pitching for in my next start? FO and Gibby seem to insist im staying but cmon... Cmon!
Jason Martinez
4:55
Jays are only 4 games out of a Wild Card spot. They're not trading him.
Andrew
4:56
Given the Dodgers' rotation depth, do you think they view Darvish as purely a rental or is there any intent on signing him long term?
Jason Martinez
4:58
They have the resources to sign him long term and I think they'll have interest. Kershaw, Wood, Hill are probably the only 4 guys that they can pencil in. Hard to count on anyone else there to stay healthy. If they didn't lose Urias, I don't think they'd be willing to pay top dollar for another frontline guy. I thought Urias would've been an ace by '18 or '19.

Fantasy baseball question.. cam bendrosian, closing the rest of the season and worth a pickup?
Jason Martinez
5:01
Sounds like the Angels are being cautious and don't want to use him in back-to-back games. I think he will get the save chance whenever he has had a day or rest. Still, that doesn't sound like a great situation.

Which farm system would you want to have if you were a small market GM?
Jason Martinez
5:02
Padres. White Sox and Braves are the only farm systems that are better, in my opinion.

Austin Hays a top 25 prospect?
Jason Martinez
5:04
No, but I think he'll make his way into the Top 80-100 in some publications. Similar jump to Fernando Tatis, but he's risen higher because he's a SS.

I read Chance Adams has great numbers in AAA, but needs to develop another pitch if he wants to make it to the bigs. Could the Yankees give him a chance at the end ofyear? Or do you think he needs more time?
Jason Martinez
5:06
Not sure, but I think we can assume that there's something he needs to work on since the Yankees have given starts to Cessa, Caleb Smith and Bryan Mitchell even when Adams has dominated in the upper minors. See Andrew Moore with Seattle. Similar numbers in AA/AAA but not quite ready for the Majors.

Will Carter Capps ever regain his elite form?
Jason Martinez
5:09
Don't know. I was bummed to see him throwing low 90s yesterday. He threw high 90s before TJ surgery. Most guys come back throwing just as hard. I wonder if it's just taking longer to get those wacky mechanics back in sync.

Astros a darkhorse in the Otani sweepstakes?
Jason Martinez
5:11
They should be in the mix and I wouldn't even call them a darkhorse. They have $$$ to spend because of the TV deal they signed a few years ago. They've added to the payroll but nothing major. I think they're ready to do something big, which is also why I wouldn't be surprised if they acquired Verlander before the end of the month.

5:12
Any chance Joe Jimenez gets to close this year?  Next year?
Jason Martinez
5:14
Hasn't earned it. Shane Greene has been great. Could happen next season, but I don't think the Tigers will be counting on him having a major role. They need to add 2 reliable late-inning guys, in my opinion.

What would a Stanton trade look like for the cardinals. Know it's a long shot but man us cards fans are dreaming lol
Jason Martinez
5:17
They'd have to take on the entire contract and give up Alex Reyes and at least 3 of these guys ... Carson Kelly, Magneuris Sierra, Harrison Bader, Luke Weaver, Jack Flaherty. And now that I think about it, they probably need a better prospect to be the centerpiece unless they really believe in Reyes to be a legit No. 1 SP in 1-2 years.

Anthony Santander is supposedly joining the O's 25 man when they return home. If he sticks the remainder of this season and part (60 games?) of the start of next season does he shed his rule 5 status?
Jason Martinez
5:20
He needs to be on the active roster for 90 days so he'd still need to be active for about another month in '18. It's rare, but it happens. I think Dan Winkler still has Rule 5 status with the Braves and he was taken before the '15 season. He's only been healthy for a few games.

5:22
Why would a team have to give up multiple top prospects and take on Stantons full salary? That doesn't seem right to me especially if the Marlins don't want his salary
Jason Martinez
5:22
Marlins will have new owners soon. I doubt they want to trade away their best and most marketable player due to salary constraints. Wouldn't look good to fans. I don't think the trade will be financially motivated.

5:22
Surprised that no team claimed Stanton?
