Anything heard about the braves offseason plans? Big name players? I heard JD Martinez

Nothing would surprise me with the Braves. They have almost nothing on their payroll after '18 aside from Freddie Freeman and one of the best farm systems in baseball.
Little Jerry

If the A’s are your dark horse for Yelich/Realmuto, who is are the A’s sending back to the Fish?
AvatarJason Martinez
5:37
How about this? Franklin Barreto (SS in '18), A.J. Puk (he'd probably be their best pitching prospect), Sean Murphy (starting catcher in mid'18) and Dustin Fowler (starting corner OF in early '18). Add 1-2 more good prospects and maybe we got something. Not enough? Too much?

Thor projection?
AvatarJason Martinez
5:39
Dominance ... 14-7, 2.38 ERA, 28 GS, 165 IP, 151 IP, 37 BB, 189 K.
5:40
Hopefully, he can make at least that many starts.

5:41
who most likely will comprise the Orioles starting rotation on opening day?
AvatarJason Martinez
5:43
Here's my best guess ... Dylan Bundy, Kevin Gausman, Andrew Cashner, Derek Holland, Miguel Castro.
Ewww.

Do the Brewers and Rays match up together on a Chris Archer trade?
AvatarJason Martinez
5:48
Sure. I would think that the Brewers would have to include Lewis Brinson, though, and probably their best pitching prospect (Corbin Burnes), in addition to 2 other good prospects.

Would a 3/30 be enough for Addison Reed?
AvatarJason Martinez
5:51
Most likely, but I think he has a really good shot at 4 years. Out of several good free agent relievers, he's the only one under 30.

Should the Jays sign Cain, do they trade Pillar?  If so, where do you see him going?
AvatarJason Martinez
5:52
Don't think Pillar is going anywhere. Cain would have to play RF. Not a bad thing when you have 2 CFs in the OF.

Projection for Cody Bellinger?
AvatarJason Martinez
5:56
Expecting a slight drop in production with teams now having a much better idea of how to pitch to him. Still an MVP-caliber projection ... .264/.355/.554; 660 PAs, 41 HR, 35 2B, 109 RBI, 14 SB, 84 BB.

Who's closing in Minnesota?
AvatarJason Martinez
5:56
Didn't you hear? The Fernando Rodney experience is coming to Minnesota.

Who are your top 7 Hitters for 2018 from a fantasy roto perspective
AvatarJason Martinez
6:00
As of now, I have Trout, Arenado, Blackmon, Stanton, Goldschmidt, Altuve, Harper. But Top 8-20 are all close.
Umm
6:00
If the Reds deal Hamilton, who will they get for CF? Jay or Dyson?
AvatarJason Martinez
6:01
In all likelihood, they would get one of those guys. If they stay in-house, they could go with some combination of Schebler and Ervin. Or maybe even Peraza.
Christian
6:01
What is projected for a healthy Carlos Correa in 2018? Gotta think he’s an early MVP candidate.
AvatarJason Martinez
6:04
Definitely ... .305/.380/.540; 678 PAs, 32 HR, 36 2B, 101 RBI, 8 SB, 76 BB. And he can be better than this, which is scary. This isn't his "best season ever" projection.

New year's premonitions - who is 2018's Judge/Bellinger?
AvatarJason Martinez
6:09
Tough call. Can't imagine any top prospect being that much better than expected as a rookie, but no one thought they would be that good. I'll take my best guess here ... Nick Senzel and Ryan McMahon.

You think Derek Holland gets a Major League job? Ehhhh they might as well resign Miley.
AvatarJason Martinez
6:12
The interesting thing about Holland is that he had 12 quality starts in 2017. He was just really, really bad in his other 14 starts. Miley was mostly bad in his 32 starts.
Missing Link
6:13
Who would you pencil in as the Giants 5th starter? I wouldn't mind a cheap option low risk guy. Give Beede little more time to season before he takes over the 3 spot?
AvatarJason Martinez
6:16
No. Beede wasn't even that good in AAA. It is the PCL, which isn't fun for a pitcher, but he gave up 10.0 H/9 and his ERA was close to 5.00. Also struck out less than 7.0 BB/9. His upside is probably No. 3 starter, but I wouldn't count on him making a big impact in 2018. Giants should definitely add one more starter and let Stratton, Blach, Suarez, Beede battle it out for 5th spot.

6:16
Who will the Cubs seek for Closer with Wade Davis signing elsewhere?
AvatarJason Martinez
6:17
As things stand, Brandon Morrow is their closer with CJ Edwards, Pedro Strop, Steve Cishek, Justin Wilson behind him on the depth chart. They might be done. Seem to be more focused on adding a starting pitcher.
Jack Goff
6:18
Any chance St. Louis upgrades at either first or third?
AvatarJason Martinez
6:20
Very likely. They could get Hosmer. They just have to outbid KC and SD, which they can probably do. Moustakas could also be a fit.

6:23
Does Jose Martinez have a real shot at 509 AB’s?  If so? Projection?
AvatarJason Martinez
6:24
Don't think so. Based on how aggressive the Cardinals appear to be this offseason, it seems like he's not gonna get regular ABs. I have him projected for 426 PAs (.273/340/.475; 19 HR, 18 2B) and that would go down if they signed another starting position player.

6:26
Byron Buxton projection, please
AvatarJason Martinez
6:28
Buxton projections are fun ... .266/.330/.471; 23 HR, 26 2B, 12 3B, 70 RBI, 35 SB, 55 BB, 85 R. And he's only entering his age-24 season. I can imagine a breakout that's MVP-caliber, but not for a few more seasons.
