Craig Biggio's kid, Cavan, is also pretty kid. Putting up huge numbers in AA. Could break into the Majors with those 3 you mentioned. I'd expect Jansen this year and Vlad, Bo, Cavan in '19.

What prospects do you think the Padres are dangling for a front end starter?
AvatarJason Martinez
5:20
I'd think anybody but Tatis is on the table. For someone like Syndergaard, it's going to take whoever the Mets think is their 2nd best prospect (Gore? Morejon?)

Is Shin-Soo Choo a possibility for Cleveland? What about Dozier? Who do you think the Indians need to Target
AvatarJason Martinez
5:23
I can see them adding an OF, just not Choo. As good as he has been this season, it would be hard to move him with $42MM due for his ages 36-37 seasons. And I don't see the Rangers eating a good chunk of that. Maybe they go after Adam Jones.

Cubs going to make a big move or no?
AvatarJason Martinez
5:24
I don't think so. Just need Darvish to get healthy and Morrow to stay healthy. They should be fine.

What would Bedrosian to the Braves return? I’m sure he’d be welcome by the Braves org.
AvatarJason Martinez
5:27
Another Bedrosian in ATL would be fun. Probably a mid-level prospect. The Braves' best 15-25 prospects are really good. He would help.

Kinsler to the Brewers? Especially if the asking price on Dozier or Escobar is not to their liking?
AvatarJason Martinez
5:30
Yep. His OPS is over .800 since late May so that would actually be a very nice addition.

You really think that the Pads' trade of Pomeranz straight up for a guy who's barely played and whose elbow will prevent him from playing in the minors until late 2019 or early 2020 was "impressive?"  Just checking to make sure that wasn't a typo.

Espinoza was one of the best pitching prospects in baseball at the time and only 18 yrs old. He'll be back to full health entering his age 21 season in '19 and probably in the Majors by '20. So his injury isn't really a factor in how that trade turned out since he didn't lose any MLB time.

What do you see the Mets getting for Cabby? Top 10 organizational prospect?
AvatarJason Martinez
5:37
Nope. He's a rental and not many teams in need of a 2B so doubtful they'd get a Top 10 prospect from any team. I'd expect a close-to-MLB pitching prospect with lower ceiling or low-level prospect with high ceiling.

Brach is killing his value lately. O’s more likely to hold onto him or package him with someone else?
AvatarJason Martinez
5:41
Value is down because he's been bad lately, but still very likely to be traded. It would help if he had a few good outings before 7/31.

Is the door closed on Andujar and Frazier moving? I want them to stay.. are the Yankees done with deal-making?
AvatarJason Martinez
5:44
No, but they wouldn't trade either for a rental. Would need to be a good MLB player with years of control. Can't see them getting a frontline SP with control (Archer/deGrom) without giving up at least 1 of them.

When is Valbuena DFA?
AvatarJason Martinez
5:48
Wouldn't be surprised if they wanted to get a look at Matt Thaiss before too long. He's heating up after a slow start in AAA. That would be the end of the Valbuena era in Anaheim.

5:49
What is Jonathan Schoop's trade value?
AvatarJason Martinez
5:50
He's having a bad season (despite a strong July) and there isn't a lot of need for a 2B so probably not very high. Worth exploring a trade in the offseason, especially if he finishes strong.
Blue Jays
5:52
does vlad jr or Bo Bichette make opening day roster?
AvatarJason Martinez
5:53
I'm sure that will be a popular question next March. And I'm almost certain they'd wait a few weeks like the Cubs did with Bryant and the Braves did with Acuña. That extra year of club control is too valuable.
Bud Holt
5:54
When are the Reds going to move Harvey?
AvatarJason Martinez
5:55
They wish they had traded him on 7/21 since he allowed 8 runs on 7/22. I'm guessing his next start will be heavily scouted and he'll be traded soon after.

Could the Mets trade Cabrera and Wheeler to Milwaukee?
AvatarJason Martinez
5:58
Sounds about right to me.

Barraclough, Conley or Steckenrider bring back a top 50 prospect?
AvatarJason Martinez
6:02
I don't think Barraclough alone could get a Top 50 guy. Marlins are reportedly scouting Yadier Alvarez, who was ranked No. 41 by Baseball Prospectus before the season. Not sure where the experts would currently rank him. Maybe closer to 100-125. I can see the Dodgers getting 2 of those guys for Alvarez and more.

6:03
Convince me otherwise... I don't see a reason for the Orioles to sell low on Bundy & Gausman. Both are exceptional talent that I don't think have been tapped into. I think they need a chance with the next regime & pitching coach and could still be traded next summer. We can't afford 2 more Jake Arrieta's.
AvatarJason Martinez
6:04
I doubt they're selling low. I'm assuming the price is high, making a trade highly unlikely. Doesn't hurt to find out if a team is willing to meet a high asking price right now.

Do you know of any players from Japan or Korea wanting to come to MLB next year?

Best lefty relievers available left?

Adam Conley, Jake Diekman, Aaron Loup, Alex Claudio, Amir Garrett (maybe), Jace Fry (maybe),

Relief pitcher. Maybe 2. I'll guess Barraclough and Conley from Miami.
