Thanks for stopping by! I'm counting the following teams as  sellers (as of today) ... BAL, CIN, CWS, KC, MIA, TEX, TOR
4:33
These teams could be sellers in July ... DET, NYM, OAK, PIT, SD, TB.
And that makes me, someone who loves trade rumors, very happy.

I seen on Bleacher Report about teams paying the most to get Jacob DeGrom...the Braves were one of those and they said the package would have to be headlined by Gohara and Riley along with a couple of more pitchers...would a package of those 2 plus Max Fried, and Joey Wentz pry DeGrom from the Mets???
Jason Martinez
4:35
The players you mentioned here are in the Braves' 2nd/3rd tier of prospects. For 2 1/2 years of one of the best pitchers in baseball, it will take 2 of their best prospects to headline a deal.
4:36
I don't think there's even a conversation unless Allard or Soroka is going to be in the deal.
Frank
4:37
Do you think the Boston Red Sox I'll make a run at reamulto from the Marlins
Jason Martinez
4:37
I think they would be a good fit. I don't think they have the prospect package to compete with other interested teams.

4:38
Is Matt Stram a player the pads view as a starting pitcher or a pen guy?
Jason Martinez
4:39
Still to be determined. They have to be happy with how he's looked in multiple innings over his last couple games. At the least, he could be a multi-inning setup man. I think they'll continue to stretch him out and see how he does in 5-6 inning stints.

Why the heck is Brad Miller in AAA? The Brewers could use his bat at short
Jason Martinez
4:42
He's not a SS, at least not a starting SS. Since he has options and the Rays are paying most of his salary, it makes sense to send him to AAA and call him up when they have more at-bats to give him. Could be a 2B option or just a super-utility man. No need to make their lineup situation even more crowded.

Soroka looked good today. Hard to believe he's only 20
Jason Martinez
4:43
And Kolby Allard is at least as good. Also 20 years old. ATL has a bright future.

Jays sellers but the Mets aren’t?
Jason Martinez
4:44
Mets are less than 10 games out in division and WC. Looks bad, but still time to turn things around. Jays are 16.5 out in division and 13 in WC.

Who is the best reliever on the market factoring age talent and contract
Jason Martinez
4:47
3 1/2 years of Brad Hand or 3 1/2 years of Raisel Iglesias.  Both will cost a lot of talent in return, though.
Sisko
4:48
Folty isn’t an ace is he? He barely ever pitches more than 5. Braves have to get a bona fide 1 right?
Jason Martinez
4:49
Folty went at least 6 IP in more than half of his starts last season so he was trending towards "ace" if he took another step forward. He's still been very good but not pitching deep into games is a problem. They either need a frontline SP or a deeper bullpen, in my opinion.
Haloer
4:50
Who do you see the Angels targeting, especially with bullpen being one of the biggest needs for them
Jason Martinez
4:51
A starting pitcher and a late-inning reliever, but none of the big names. Their farm system is much-improved, but I don't see this front office trading away some of their best young talent to make a big move now.
4:54
So think someone like Tyson Ross, J.A. Happ, Marco Estrada, James Shields to help out the rotation and maybe a Joakim Soria or Jared Hughes to help out the bullpen. I think they just need some depth to help keep them in the WC race.

So when does Machado get traded or does he?
Jason Martinez
4:57
Wouldn't surprise me if he was traded very soon. Higher asking price likely to be met if they have Machado for 3-4 months as opposed to 2+.
Johnny Quest
4:57
How long until the Astros bring up Forrest Whitley and pitch him out of the pen, like the White Sox did initially with Chris Sale?
Jason Martinez
4:59
Just back from suspension and un-hittable in his 1st AA start. Geez. There are some talented 20-year-olds in the game. I don't think they'll call him up in '18, though.
Hand to Stros
5:00
One of Forest Whitley or Kyle Tucker would have to headline a package for Brad Hand, right?
Jason Martinez
5:01
Pretty sure that's what Preller has in mind. He has all the leverage now that Hand is under control thru '21 and continues to be one of the best relievers in the game.
Jason Martinez
5:02
How much value do you see Cole Hamels having at the deadline?
Jason Martinez
5:05
Depends on how much $ the Rangers will take on. If no $ exchanged hands, he'd still be owed $8-$12MM this season and either $20MM for '19 or $6MM buyout. If the Rangers take on about half of that, I think they can get a very good prospect in return (not quite a Top 50 prospect).
Callen
5:06
Do you buy Jerry Dipoto saying that Robinson Cano won't be their everyday 2B when he returns?
Jason Martinez
5:07
Yes. He's not eligible for the playoffs so doesn't make sense to move Dee Gordon back to the OF to finish out the season and then move back to 2B if they get to the playoffs.
Orioles
5:08
If Zach Britton pitches well the next 2 months what could we get at the deadline?
Jason Martinez
5:11
For 2+ months of Britton, the return will probably be disappointing to Orioles fans.  But if he proves that he's back to his pre-injury form for a good month, I think they could get a team's Top 10 prospect (4-10 range).

Dodgers should sign Hanley Ramirez
Jason Martinez
5:13
Nope. Bellinger has broken out of his slump. Best if they just leave him at 1B, which leaves no at-bats for a guy like Hanley.
Darrell
5:13
Do you see the Braves checking with Royals on Moustakas?
Jason Martinez
5:13
Definitely.
5:14
Seems like a perfect fit. They have the prospects to get a deal done. They are the favorites, in my opinion.
