They don't really need a 2B since they already traded for Brandon Phillips and have Ozzie Albies waiting in the wings and Villar isn't a very good 3B. Jace Peterson wouldn't be a major part of that kind of deal. Braves do have the prospects if they want to make a significant move before the trade deadline.

I think they'll have a tough time getting 70 wins. But that's a good thing during a rebuilding season. That's how they get to draft guys like Nick Senzel.

Andrew Bailey should have a spot. JC Ramirez was very good last season and is out of options. Jose Alvarez is the best lefty reliever they have. Yusmeiro Petit is a very good swingman.

I have him in the 40's, mostly because I think his average will be below .300 and he doesn't seem like a guy who will walk very much. So probably a sub-.340 OBP. Villar had 62 SBs with a .369 OBP.

Not at all. Not too many players who play 162 games a year, so a guy like Perez who can play several positions can easily get 300-400 plate appearances despite not being a lineup regular.

Everyone who has done the chat thinks that Jean Segura's value is going to diminish a lot. What do you think will happen to him in 2017?

Just moving out of Chase Field to a more pitcher-friendly ballpark is going to diminish his value. Plus, he was great in 2013 and 2016 and really bad in 2014-15. Not sure which player will show up in '17.

RE: Segura being bad in 14-15. His infant son died in summer of '14, may have had a lot to do with his issues those years.

I wouldn't doubt it. Still, there's not enough of a track record there so it's easy to pick him out as a regression candidate. I have him at .282/.331/.431 with 31 2B, 9 3B, 15 HR, 30 SB, 100 runs. There's regression but still a very good season.
