Jason Martinez
4:32
Thanks for stopping by! I'll answer as many questions as possible in the next 75 minutes.
Ahmed Rosario
4:32
Will I get called up before June 15?
Jason Martinez
4:33
Yes. Here's the proof that I do believe it will happen ... https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2017/05/knocking-down-the-door-faria-gu...
Jake
4:33
What is wrong with Zach Davies?
Jason Martinez
4:34
Not a power pitcher. Relies on command and doesn't have it right now. Bad timing because Brewers have some interesting prospects (Woodruff, Lopez, Hader) who could get a look soon.
David Price
4:34
When am I back?
Jason Martinez
4:35
Sounds like ETA was late May/early June. I'd still be concerned with his elbow, though.
ATX Halo
4:36
Angels buyers or sellers at deadline?
Jason Martinez
4:36
Buyers. I think they'll hang around in the WildCard race. Starting pitching has been much better than expected.

What realist trade pieces are on Padres 25 man roster?
Jason Martinez
4:37
Hand. Maurer. Buchter. Cahill (if he can return from DL and stay off of it for 5-6 starts). Chacin.
Brennan Lewis
4:38
What do you think about the Mariners and their injuries?
Jason Martinez
4:39
I've seen worse. Depth is being tested. If they can hang around, could make a run once they're back to full health. Also need Edwin Diaz to figure it out or could be looking for bullpen help soon.
Michael from Minnesota
4:39
Who will make an all-star game appearance first - Byron Buxton or Jose Berrios?
Jason Martinez
4:40
Both will make it for the 1st time in 2019. You heard it here first.
Yaz
4:40
When do the Pirates start the sell off? It seems like the GM is afraid to pull of a deal.
Jason Martinez
4:42
Only 6 games out of a playoff spot. Probably mid-to-late July if they continue to drop in the standings. As long as a team that expected to contend for the playoffs can stay within 10 games of a playoff spot without falling too far under .500, I think they're most likely to wait as long as possible.
Jason
4:43
If Toronto were out of it by mid July, would they accept Rosario, Dunn, Dominic Smith and Wheeler for Donaldson from the Mets?
Jason Martinez
4:43
They sure would. It's the Mets that would hang up, though. Rosario is going to be a star and Donaldson is an FA after '18.
Brian Cashman
4:45
I'm gm of yankees should I get gerrit cole and offer my farm
Jason Martinez
4:45
Nope. Stay the course. Keep Gleyber, Frazier and other top prospects. That team will be stacked next season and for years to come. Not as much frontline pitching on the way, but I can see them dipping back into free agency for that over the next offseason or two.

4:46
What do you think has been the cause of Ryan zimmermans hot start?
Jason Martinez
4:46
Good health. I think that's almost always a factor. These guys try to play through most injuries and it's not easy to do.
Wyatt
4:48
What's your prediction for how the AL WEST will play out??
Jason Martinez
4:49
I don't see the Astros slowing down enough for any team to catch them. I can see them wrapping up the division in early September. Too much talent and depth and already a huge lead. The other teams are all good enough to compete for a WildCard spot.
Mets fan
4:51
Mets should sell everyone on one year deal and call up the prospects
Jason Martinez
4:51
They'd have some interesting names on the trade block if they do sell. I can see Amed Rosario getting called up regardless and Dominic Smith later in the season if they can clear 1B for him. Nimmo and Cecchini deserve a look, too.
Gabe
4:52
What do you think the Braves will do at 3B? Kevin Maitan is probably 5 years away, and surely they'll
Jason Martinez
4:53
I thought Machado would be a good target for next offseason. A few of their top prospects are quickly moving up into elite status so I can see them having the pieces. However, I don't know if they'd do that if this season continues to be a disappointment. Can't give away elite prospects for a 1-year rental unless he's going to turn a good team into a World Series contender.
JOHN
4:53
What are your views on the Giants
Jason Martinez
4:55
Still a very good team, but they're not getting out of this hole without MadBum.
David
4:57
Dan Altivalla , any chance he ends up with the closer role in Seattle?
Jason Martinez
4:58
Sure. So many not-so-great options there so it's easy to stand out with a few good appearances. Altavilla was next in line when the season started but struggled so he'll have to work his way back into the mix. He might not have a lot of time to prove himself, if Diaz figures things out. Once he does, it's his job again.

Over/Under on 81 wins for the Jays?
Jason Martinez
5:00
Over. I think they'll make a playoff run, especially if JA Happ comes back strong.
Craig
5:01
Do you think Lamet will be in the Padres rotation before the All Star break ?
Jason Martinez
5:02
There's a decent chance. Cahill is hurt again. Weaver might not last more than a few more starts. Kyle Lloyd is also making a case after his no-hitter for Double-A San Antonio last week.
Martin
5:03
Is a Tony Watson rental the smartest option for the Astros if they want to add to the bullpen?
Jason Martinez
5:04
Sure. Brad Hand would probably be preferred, though. More control. Multi-inning guy that can pitch on most days.
Norm
5:05
Who would the Dodgers need to include along with Joc Pederson to get Lorenzo Cain.
