Not much happening yet this offseason, but the deadline to add players to the 40-man roster is next Tuesday. The non-tender deadline is Nov. 30th. Shouldn't be too much longer before this offseason gets moving.

No. If Syndergaard was under control for at least 4 years, I think the Angels would listen to something along those lines. But if the Mets traded Syndergaard for Trout, they're in not much better shape than the Angels right now. Needs to be a team with an extremely deep farm system and some MLB-ready talent with 5+ years of control to highlight the deal.

I don't think they'd want to take on Santana's contract. Bour would be a good fit if he drops far enough on waivers (he was placed on waivers today). Desmond as super-utility would be my preference and the preference of many others. Not sure it's Bud Black's preference.

Sounds good to me. He would know better than anyone why he was so good with SD (2.47 ERA, 10.1 K/9 in 17 starts). I think the injuries hampered him with Boston. But maybe he was really comfortable with Darren Balsley (pitching coach). It's not uncommon. San Diego. Petco Park. Darren Balsley. Low pressure. Good combination.

Pomeranz will turn things around and they'll trade him to Boston for Jay Groome in July.

Kelly wasn't tendered a qualifying offer. All three of those guys are options to return. I don't think they'll bring back both Kelly and Kimbrel.

Yep. Room for one big bat there. Not sure they'd want to go multi-year for Donaldson but I can see them in the mix if he's willing to sign a 1-year deal. Cruz might be the most likely choice.

The reason they could get Realmuto or Kluber is because of how good he is playing. He's also on the fast track to the Majors. But gotta take the risk if you want to trade for an impact player. They're close enough to being a WS contender that it's worth it.

Probably won't be one of their Top 8 choices when the season starts. If he's pitching well in AAA after about 10-12 starts, I think he could move into the "next in line" spot. At the least, he can get an occasional start to push everyone else back a day like they were doing with Kingham.

Nope. Not just because it's hard to manage and then decide when to pinch hit yourself late in the game, but because each bench player has to be so versatile. Without any changes to the roster rules, teams will continue to try and keep 12-14 pitchers on their roster so a 3-man bench needs guys that play lots of positions.

Realmuto and probably no one else. He's not overrated. There aren't that many good catchers who can hit. Posey will be transitioning to 1B soon. Yadier is 36.

They won't be adding OF. They need to trade one. They love Franchy Cordero. He's their left-handed hitting OF. He's gonna hit 30 HR and steal 20+ bases in his prime. A lefty-hitting 3B would work. Moustakas is the FA option. Can't think of any lefty trade targets.
