Be patient! The roster is talented, but don't panic if they aren't good again in '19. Stockpile young pitching. Don't overpay for 1B or corner OF bats. As much as I hate giving multi-year deals to a pitcher, I would try to lock up either Syndergaard or deGrom and trade the other either in July (if they're not in the playoff race) or next offseason.

$15MM per season or total? I think he'll get 3 years, but more than $15MM total and less than $15MM per season. So 3/39MM sounds about right to me.

Way too risky for any pitcher. But that's just market-value for certain guys. Corbin will get close, but I think will fall short. If it's a young ace who has been great for a few seasons and still has 3-5 years of prime left, I think it's worth it. Especially if it's a fan favorite who has success with current team. That's why I mentioned giving an extension to one of deGrom/Syndergaard earlier. That would definitely be over $20MM/season and maybe closer to $30MM.

If Albert can not play 1B his role will be really  be reduced with Ohtani full time DH. What should Halos do with Pujols?

As long as he's not retiring, I think he'll be limited to part-time 1B (3-4 starts per week) and will get the occasional DL stint to rest his knees.

He has a ton of value due to production, age, versatility. Reds have all the leverage. If they want to keep him, they can make him an offer this offseason. If it doesn't work out, there should be plenty of teams interested in acquiring him.
