Who would you rather have on your team Aaron Nola or Steven Matz?
Jeffrey Todd
4:01
Tough call! Guess Matz probably has some more upside, but I think I'd actually be scared off a bit by the arm issues and stick with Nola.
Chris Miller

Who takes the 4th and 5th spots in the Braves rotation?
Jeffrey Todd

Addressed this in detail in the most recent MLBTR mailbag: http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/mlbtr-mailbag

What can we expect from Fernando Rodney in SD?
Jeffrey Todd
4:03
The unexpected? A wild ride? Choose your cliche, but it will be interesting.

Mike Trout begins spring training 2017 in a uniform that is not LA
Jeffrey Todd
4:04
Well, if this season is an utter calamity, then no. Otherwise, no.
I just can't comprehend how you can trade him. At this point in his career, he's the second coming of Willie Mays.

You havent said one word about the Cards, Reds, Pirates, Yankees, Red Sox, A's, or Mariners. You must hate them

#HaterTracker
Of course, now I've mentioned them all!

If the White Sox tank in the first half do you see a firesale? Think they could trade Abreu or Sale?
Jeffrey Todd
4:07
Not necessarily. Their core guys are under contract for long enough that it's an extended window. I mean, it would be tough if there's another failed season with the current plan of adding 2 and 3 year commitments around those core players. But that still wouldn't mean it's time to sell them for whatever you can get at the deadline. Other players - including Frazier/Lawrie/Rollins/Melky/etc - could obviously be fair game if they were playing well and the team wasn't.

Any chance the Yankees would give up Aaron Judge and Gary Sanchez for Chris Sale? We need that ace pitcher.
Jeffrey Todd
4:07
I'm sure they would, if given that chance. It's way light for Sale.

Would we have to wait until 2017 to see Joey Gallo again?
Jeffrey Todd
4:09
He'll have a chance to earn a role over the season if he can master Triple-A. But I think they know they rushed him and his time in the majors showed it. They don't need to go to him, and have other guys who would also be considered, so he'll need to play his way onto the MLB roster at this point. And that's probably just fine by Jon Daniels.

Do we have any chance of competing this year?
Jeffrey Todd
4:09
It's baseball, everyone has a chance. But I'd be shocked.

True/False - Red Sox First baseman is Hanley on last day of the season.
Jeffrey Todd
4:10
FALSE
He has such a good year that he is sitting out, resting up for the post-season.
4:11
Actually, I am kind of on the positive side -- I think it can work and he's got some motivation. It isn't fun to have a crappy year when you are used to being a stud (I would know, right?), so I see his talent coming through.
Okay folks, gotta run.
Appreciate it, enjoyed it, talk again next week!

One last plug for today's podcast: Evan Grant is great, Brad Woodrum's TJ stuff is interesting. You just have to suffer through listening to me to get to them. Cheers!
