Tim Dierkes

Welcome to my chat, where the only thing we'll be electing is free agency!!! HA!
Dan
12:56
Do you think EE with get the 5/125 his agent said they are look Looking for?
Tim Dierkes
12:56
I do not. EE is 34 next year, with what Keith Law described as classic "old player
"old player's skills." I think five years is just agent talk.
Andrew S
12:56
Rich Hill to the Bronx?
Tim Dierkes
12:57
Yankees seem like one of many viable options for Rich Hill, who is the Belle of the Ball this winter.
Mets
12:57
Matt Holiday to Mets to platoon at first and LF?
Tim Dierkes
12:57
Pretty inelegant solution, does nothing to help the defense.

If I'm the jays I'm letting Bautista walk unless he only wants like 10-15mill right?
Tim Dierkes
12:58
Well, I guess my 3/51, back to the Jays prediction implies they'd do more than 1/15.
Chad
12:58
Why is no one talking about Billy Butler as a 1B or DH option?
Tim Dierkes
12:59
Pretty much a DH-only guy, and slugging under .400 for the last three years.
Jacob
12:59
Who should the Braves go after?
Tim Dierkes
12:59
They need a catcher (Wieters, Castro, McCann) as well as multiple starting pitchers. I think they'll sign one guy, like Dickey or Hammel, and trade for another.
Amadeus
12:59
Are Kendrys Morales and Josh Reddick logical fits for Toronto?
Tim Dierkes
12:59
Indeed they are, those are both realistic.

12:59
Is Matt Holliday a realistic target for Red Sox?
Tim Dierkes
1:00
Yes, though he'd hardly be their first choice.
Clint Teal
1:00
Ramos, most likely outcome?
Tim Dierkes
1:00
We're thinking multiyear deal still. Four years, some chance of three, at reduced but still strong dollars.

what will the cardinals do this offseason?
Tim Dierkes
1:01
Adding a CF seems to be top priority. They've talked about improving the defense that way, though there aren't a ton of available excellent CF defenders who can also hit.
Chicago Terry
1:01
Are my White Sox getting an above avg catcher this offseason?
Tim Dierkes
1:01
Do you consider Jason Castro above average?
Dan
1:01
Where does Fowler end up?
Tim Dierkes
1:02
I went with the Cardinals, but my field is generally the Dodgers, Giants, Mariners, Cardinals, Rangers, Jays, and Nats for him.
Joe
1:02
Do you think the Cardinals will be a player in FA this winter or are they looking for blockbuster trades instead?
Tim Dierkes
1:02
I imagine their preference is to trade, so my Fowler pick runs against that.
Ortega
1:02
Where do you think Jansen lands?
Tim Dierkes
1:03
I went with the Cubs, but that could be wishful thinking. Seems like one of the Cubs, Yankees, Giants, Nationals, or Dodgers should get him. I kind of see the Dodgers drawing a line in the sand and some other team exceeding it.
Clint Teal
1:03
Rich Hill to the Braves?
Tim Dierkes
1:03
I would expect them to inquire.
Eric
1:03
5/90 seems a bit bullish on chapman?
Tim Dierkes
1:03
I've seen people going higher, and lower on him.
Caleb
1:04
Why Beltran with the White Sox and EE with Boston? Seems like EE is gonna stay in Toronto and Beltran will replace Ortiz.
Tim Dierkes
1:04
Some of the very recent EE back to the Jays momentum came out after our list was published. But in general, I never felt strongly that he'd stay, though of course it's possible.
Connor
1:04
Do you foresee any players being non-tendered that could possibly have made the Top 50 list?
Tim Dierkes
1:07
Maybe guys like Jake McGee, Ben Revere, Tyson Ross, Trevor Plouffe, or Nathan Eovaldi. That Eovaldi is out for 2017 and could still maybe crack this list shows how bad the starting pitching is. And Ross only if there is a health issue.
Aquizno
1:07
Cespedes to LAD? It's a good fit but Andrew Friedman is afraid to spend money. I see the Giants getting him.
Tim Dierkes
1:07
We kicked around Cespedes quite a bit, as you'd expect. I don't have much conviction about the Dodgers pick, but I don't like other picks more. I expect the Giants to prioritize the bullpen and probably not be the high bidder on Ces.
