I can see them trying to split the baby, moving some pieces but wanting to stay competitive. Honestly not sure if they'd be hurt much by trading Hosmer and replacing him more cheaply. Joakim Soria seems unnecessary. Things could really get interesting if they entertain trades for Danny Duffy this winter or in July.

I'm a little confused. In the Predictions, you guys say that Jansen is signing with the Cubs, but the last sentence of that paragraph reads, "should the Dodgers balk at the price, the Cubs, etc. could be alternatives". Which is the mistake? Just wanted to clarify.

Even if Fowler leaves, the Cubs have a full outfield situation. Do teams still value Soler's potential in a trade or is he a secondary piece at this point?

Good question. I think teams are going to be intrigued by Soler. He hasn't done much in the Majors, but you can dream on him becoming a star.

First, I think fans take some of the things GMs say a bit too literally. Second, I've seen the names a lot of Cards fans would like to get for CF, and a lot of them seem unrealistic to me. That said, if I had to pick the Cardinals or the field for Fowler, I'd definitely pick the field!

Trumbo seems to be a guy no one is talking about, not a great defender but a great power bat. Any predictions, teams and money?

Our list has 4/60 back to the Orioles. We debated him quite a bit and didn't find any good fits for teams, which is why I worry the contract projection is too high. I guess the Red Sox or Rangers could work.

I can see guys like Neftali Feliz or Daniel Hudson working the late innings, but both have extensive injury histories, so they are probably not the multiple inning shutdown guys. So to answer your question, no.

Do you really see the Dodgers spending $200 million in free agency? I know they have the money, but Freidman hasn't shown a willingness to spend big single players yet.

I wouldn't take it so much as a suggestion that the Dodgers will sign all of those players. But I would argue that Friedman has shown a willingness to take on large salaries, with their offers to Greinke and their attempt to acquire Braun.
