I mean, I can understand why they don't, in that they want to create their own history in Washington.  Plus, they also might not want to rub it in too much to Montreal.

But, while I don't know if the Nats have actually done this before or not, an annual "Expos Night" promotion would be kind of fun.  They all dress in the Expos throwbacks, the PA person gives announcements in both English and French, Youppi is at the ballpark, the presidents' race is replaced by a prime ministers' race, etc.
Josiah Gray

Does he end up in the bullpen or will he stick in the rotation?
Mark P

Too early to say, but I still lean towards rotation.  As much as Gray definitely needs to solve his problems with the homers and the walks, there's potential there, and he's still young

Should Patrick Corbin be traded/released or could he be salvaged in a bullpen role similar to the 2019 World Series run?
Mark P
6:02
Moving him to the pen might ultimately be the call, yet Corbin can at least still cover innings for an inexperienced rotation.  If Corbin simply doesn't pitch well enough to even fill that role, he might face a future as a reliever

Which teams have 40 man roster squeezes?  Would it make sense for the Nats to deal guys like Millas or De La Rosa for guys who might not be 26 man roster candidates for their current team but might be more useful to the Nats?
Mark P

Quite a few teams have 40-man squeezes, as a side effect from last winter's canceled Rule 5 draft.  To that end, it'll be tougher for the Nationals or any team to swing roster-clearing trades

Nats have a lot of catchers. Especially with Israel Pineda in the wings. Cards need to replace Molina, with few great options among Free Agents. Plus they have a wealth of pitchers like Flaherty, Naughton, and a wealth of infielders. Should or would the Nats consider trading Ruiz for talent?
Mark P

Ruiz is the guy to build around, not a trade chip in his own right.  Moving him would be kicking the rebuild can down the road another season or so.  The more interesting move would be to float Pineda as a possible trade chip, not now but maybe in a year's time --- in a sense, the same logic the Dodgers had in moving Ruiz since they had Will Smith

We've passed the hour mark, so let's wrap this one up.  Thanks for all the questions, and stay tuned for more team-specific chats in the coming days and weeks (schedule TBD)
