The last few weeks of reading have brought a lot of comfort-   The Bible has tons of fulfilled prophecy and more to come.   And Jesus is the Shepherd who lays down everything for us, His sheep.

More of a statement but I would say most ppl just need to calm down like every generation has had multiple "were gonna die" moments but just know God is in control.

I agree.  It's important to be wise during times like this, but always to remain level-headed and at peace

after reading this weeks chapter, i spent some time thinking about it. the movies make you think that a shepherd is some child just looking after animals. that they are just insignificant. reading scripture paints an entirely different picture.

That's a really good observation.  I like how "Core 52" makes us think more deeply about things like that.

In today's time we see that kinda thing a lot, the world will say one thing about a placeholder/title and it can be the complete opposite in God's meaning

No matter how you're spending your Spring break and beyond, know that myself and your other leaders are here for you if you need someone to talk to.   If you have questions, need advice, or even if you're just bored!  We'll get through this all together.  Reach out to those hurting even if you think they don't have much of a reason

being a shepherd requires patience, determination, leadership, a willingness to know the flock and to care so deeply that you make it your job to lead in a way that actually guides them into a place of peace. like jj’s statement... every generation has those moments... its the good shepherd that will guide you through those moments.

Psalm 46:10 I think is What I will throw out there, He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
    I will be exalted among the nations,
    I will be exalted in the earth.”

"We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. New Living Translation. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the LORD laid on him the sins of us all."     -One of my favorites ever

"be still" are two of the most haunting, yet beautiful words ever spoken by God.

I posted that video this week before I did my reading... and then the reading was on Psalm 23 too!  Love when God works like that

Also powerful, like Anxiety is at an all-time high, so those 2 words in a command really can speak volumes.

Alright everybody- thanks for chatting.  If we do this on a different day we'll hopefully get more people and there's more we could do with it.   But it was a good discussion, and awesome to read those Scriptures
Have a good night!   Let us know if you need anything!!
