Steelers have to love this draft so far
Brian Batko
9:38
Yes, OLs sliding, but that run could begin anytime now.
I'm predicting Kwity Paye to the G-Men. Might be high for him, but edge is their biggest need by far.

Bears trade up for QB
Jerry Micco
9:39
Hey all. Hope you're enjoying the draft!
Brian Batko
9:39
Yup, Bears are trading up here, per Adam Schefter. Good move for the Giants, too, considering they're committed to Danny Dimes at QB (for now).
Jerry Micco
9:41
I think the Justin Fields fall is over, eh?
Brian Batko
9:41
And wow, the Giants got a lot in the deal. A first-rounder and fourth-rounder next year IN ADDITION to No. 20 tonight and a fifth-rounder this year.

Didn't the Bears trade up for Trubisky as well?
history repeating itself...
Jerry Micco
9:41
Nice haul for NYG.

Good to have you back on the sports chat, Jerry! Have any insight from your Baltimore buddy?
Jerry Micco
9:43
But doesn't the haul kind of stay in line with the trade calculation board?
Brian Batko
9:43
I love this move for the Bears. They HAD to give their fan base some hope at QB after the Trubisky debacle, and Fields is the perfect way to do it.

Slater on the board at 12 is good for the Steelers

9:45
If Darrisaw, Vera-Tucker, Harris and ETN are all there at 24, who do you take?  I hope O Line!
Brian Batko
9:45
I'm still going Etienne, Patrick. But any of those options would be lovely for the Steelers.
9:46
WOW! Must mean the Steelers captain is mad they didn't draft Fields. Run with the headlines, now.
Jud
9:47
Fields picked early is a blessing in disguise for the Steelers, they won't be reaching to pick him...
TPRanger
9:47
I appreciate how important OL is, but the Steelers won Super Bowl XLIII with one of the worst OLs in Super Bowl history. Take the playmaker.
Brian Batko
9:49
That's pretty much where I'm at. Way too much analyzing of the draft by position instead of player these days. The only thing everyone can agree on is it's all a crap shoot, so, within reason, just take the best guy who can help you the most.
9:50
Micah Parsons to the Cowboys. They were believed to be a lock to go corner, and yet, Horn-Surtain gone so they grab arguably the best defensive player in the draft. Penn State linebacker.

9:50
yea but KC had the weapons and no line and got smoked
Jerry Micco
9:51
That's a great pick. Sean Lee, former PSU LB, just retired after a long career in Dallas. Put another Nittany Lion in his place.
Brian Batko
9:51
Good call, Jerry. Some nice synergy there.
Both Lee and Parsons are PA boys, as well.
Jud

Bats has the INSIDE scoop... :)
Brian Batko
9:51
I'm just occasionally checking Twitter, that's all.

well done by the Cowboys  They must have told JJ to stay on his yacht and out of the draft room
Brian Batko
9:52
Is it too late for coffee? I'm tempted...
Chargers HAVE to go OL here, and specifically, someone who can play LT for them right away (and for as long as Justin Herbert is under center). My pick is Rashawn Slater.

Caps score with 14 seconds remaining to tie the Pens at 4-4. Going to OT.

9:54
Who is your best thumper left on the board?
Brian Batko
9:54
Zaven Collins probably.
Jerry Micco
9:55
Penguins win in OT, 5-4. Clinch 15th straight playoff season.
Chargers were slated for Vera-Tucker here, but you cannot pass on Slater. Brian's right.

Does it really matter who the Chargers draft? They haven't done anything since they upset the Steelers in '94
