It's hard to tell who would be a better successor to Mike Tomlin.  Would anybody have predicted that Chuck Noll would achieve the record he did with the Steelers after serving as an assistant coach with the Baltimore Colts?  There could indeed be a better coach than Mike Tomlin out there.

Tomlin is a good coach but he is not a great coach. He might have a great seasons where he did more with less but he has had just as many where he did less with more. That is not what a great coach does.

I look at the remaining games on the schedule and really I don't see a game the Steelers will be favored for the rest of the way.  In fact, at best I see 1-2 wins rest of the way

Saw a comment on Pro Football Talk a few weeks back that sums up Tomlin perfectly.  Can take a 3 win team and coax 7 or 8 wins out of them but will too often take a 14 win team and bungle them to 11 wins and an early playoff exit.
