If it's still Batman talk in here Troy Baker does a surprisingly good impression of Hamil's Joker
AvatarKiley McDaniel
7:12
i googled "who has played the joker" and quickly realized i have put a lot of voice actors on a rocket to mars
Eric A Longenhagen
7:13
Robocop and Bender both gone
Eric A Longenhagen
7:13
That's an easy out for Goldy if he's not holding the runner on, maybe even if he flips his hips and works back on the ball rather than leap

Yohendrick Pinango: Best LHH prospect in the DSL this year or is there a bigger bonus guy to know? He and Luis Matos were the most consistently awesome hitters in the league it seems, Matos' bigger teammate too I forget his name. BTW I ONLY KNOW THIS because of FanGraphs' new filters for the MiL leaderboards - those are amazing and massive and thank you
Eric A Longenhagen
7:14
I have very little on Pinango
kumquatch
7:14
Eric, who’s impressed you in the AFL?
Eric A Longenhagen
7:16
More than I anticipated? Alex Lange, Raymond Kerr
Go Barves!
7:18
Cervelli v. Gallegos in game one of the NLDS, just like everyone drew it up in the preseason
bosoxforlife
7:19
Gallegos is throwing some nice pitches, but that was an awful call.
Derek
7:19
that's not even that close to a swing, is it?
Eric A Longenhagen
7:20
not a swing, imo
Dystopian Future
7:21
PSA: Gallegos isn't a big name but he's been one of the best relievers in baseball this year. wOBA againstof .233 was the seventh best in baseball this year (xwOBA against of .252 was also top-20 and equal to Roberto Osuna).
Eric A Longenhagen
7:21
Yup, one of those guys who was squeezed out of a crowded Yankee 40-man situation
Dystopian Future
7:23
Kolten Wong has had a no good very bad day.
Derek
7:23
Some pretty disastrous defense for the Cards so far
Lee van Beef
7:23
Second huge, potentially game deciding error of the postseason already.

7:24
i wonder if statcast one day is able to define how bad a hop is based on batted ball spin/axis
that was obviously top-spun and tricky, but i wonder how tricky
bosoxforlife
7:24
Tough hop. Edman didn't have much of a chance.
Eric A Longenhagen
7:25
I thought it was playable
Edman took a passive line
that ball needs to be fielded closer to when it hops
Dystopian Future
7:25
And TBS defaults back to talking about fielding percentage when talking about defense. Disappointing but not surprising.
AvatarKiley McDaniel
7:26
yeah these guys strike me as just fine but not standout good in any real way
Eric A Longenhagen
7:27

joe
7:31
braves down to 2 guys on their bench
Eric A Longenhagen
7:32
Flowers and Hamilton.
Jeff
7:34
Lucas Giolito, Max Fried, Dylan Cease, Walker Buehler, AJ Puk, Jesus Luzardo, hopefully Honeywell, Alex Reyes, hopefully Taillon...I feel like I'm forgetting someone big too...All guys with TJ surgeries before hitting the MLs. Seems like we're in a golden age for this kind of pitcher and as a SP? They've existed - Mo Rivera, Johan Santana, David Wells, and Burnett are guys I remember, but seems like a lot more than usual high profile amateurs and prospects
Eric A Longenhagen
7:35
(among prospects, anyway {for now})
Dystopian Future
7:36
I'm wondering why they're keeping Markakis in there instead of using Hamilton as a defensive sub in center and moving Acuna to right. Seems like an unnecessary liability.
Eric A Longenhagen
7:37
Given the game state, I'm with you. Hamilton should be in soon, at least. Maybe after one of the corner guys hits next?
Morbo
7:37
Btw that wasn't a dig it anything at Kiley, it has to be difficult to remain unbiased when you scouted for a team and they are playing
Eric A Longenhagen
7:38
eh, i dunno, people aren't typically biased *in favor* of their exes
5 Run Homer
7:40
That is a BEARD
Eric A Longenhagen
7:40
Are we sure it isn't Dallas Braden?
7:42
Brebbia released by NYY after many injuries way back in '13, spent 2 years in Indy ball, Dbacks signed him (they've done well in Indy ball), then he was minor league Rule 5 by STL.
JoJo
7:42
Why did Fried pitch? Coming in for 1 inning like a bullpen day?
