Barring injury, it appears so for Tucker. Kang needs to hit ASAP because he might be the odd man out.

Do you think we might need to pick up a starter (not my guy Stroman, trying to not just ask you about him every week!) simply for the sake of covering some innings? Looking at year-by-year innings totals, only Archer and Williams have handled a lot. Musgrove had about 120 last year, whereas all of the other options (Lyles, Brault, Keller, Agrazal) would definitely hit career highs.

Getting Taillon as an option obviously could help, but do you think we might grab somebody at the deadline for depth? Maybe this is a stretch, but Lyles and Brault could likely cycle in and out of long relief in an effort to stay fresher.

What I have in mind is something others have brought up, which is us making an analogous move to when we acquired Happ. That kind of thing would probably fall more in line with the emerging consensus that we'll stand pat, instead of what we should do, which is get Stroman (sorry, couldn't resist!).

Where's the question? LOL, But for real, they could use another pitcher. I'm not sure if they'll spend the prospects though.

What to do with Will Craig . . .  ?  He is 25 and obviously ready to face MLB pitching. What do you think is the plan is for him?

Hope he learns to play another position... I'm not sure. Bell has him blocked but he needs to play.
12:56
Someone asked about Lonnie Chisenhall. And he's at home as far we know. We haven't seen him several weeks.

Over/under on a brawl breaking out in Wrigley on Friday afternoon?

12:56
under the Pirates could leave the weekend in first place. It's too important.

Do you think Will Craig's season has him back as a consensus top 100 prospect? Sounds like the defense has improved considerably, but maybe needs the AVG/OBP to tick up a bit more in order to really have some hype?
nubyjas wilborn
12:59
I don't think it matters. People who matter know what is capable of.

With Archer's final 3 seasons in T.B not good and him having a losing career record. Why would anyone be optimistic?
nubyjas wilborn

Now we're using pitching wins as a stat? lol. But I don't think it's over for Archer.

Who doesn't like Melky??   Dickerson is probably the best choice as trade bait, but Polanco is so injury prone and a liability defensively....would not mind seeing him go.  Love to see them go after the A's Bret Anderson...any chance of that happening?
nubyjas wilborn

Melky is universally loved. Both of those guys will be tougher to move for anything you want. BTW: Polanco isn't a defensive liability and has had the one major injury.

Were you surprised to see Vasquez showing love for Acuna in the HR Derby versus his teamate Bell?
nubyjas wilborn
1:04
No, Acuna's family is baseball royalty in Venezuela. Acuna Sr is a legend in Venezuela. It made perfect sense.

Is the NL Central the best division in baseball because all teams are competitive, something that no other division can claim, or are they toward the bottom because all are hovering around .500 and no clear-cut front runner?
nubyjas wilborn
1:04
yes.

What can you tell me about minor league pitcher Sean Keselica?  Do you think he may make the major league roster in a couple of years?
nubyjas wilborn
1:06
Very little because I haven't seen him pitch. He's in Class AAA Indy and has decent numbers.

Do you think that Archer claiming he is going back to his roots will improve his results?
nubyjas wilborn
1:06
sure.

Any Taillon news? What is the probability that he pitches again this year? Over or under 50%?
nubyjas wilborn

nothing new from what we've reported recently. I'd say under.
