I don't believe that would be a good answer.

When might the owner speak to the press about the plan for going forward?

Good question. I don't know. Requests are being made. Stay tuned.

I think they need to replace Frazier; he only hits for part of the year, is in a funk for the rest of the year. Newman at second and cole at short, or newman at short and Kramer at second, I think they should spend September doing that. bench fraizer

I'm not sure if there's a question here. However, We'll likely Kramer get a shot coming up soon. I don't see a need to move Newman any time soon.

I doubt it, but he's fun to watch. He will be a player one day.

You were not here last year so perhaps you do not know the answer, but it would be nice if you could find out the reason the P.G. does not post the total attendance figures like they used to. It was always placed under the players stats and would include current year, last year and the record year. I believe all were based on tickets sold. I have seen this in print once this year. It makes it look like the Pirates want to keep it out of print. I mean we keep hearing they are ahead of last years figures, but why not show that?

The Pirates have no impact on what we print at the Post-Gazette. I'm honestly not sure why we don't. However, the attendance numbers are easily found on baseball-reference or fangraphs or MLB.com

Im interested in Tom Koehler....if the Pirates further pair down their payroll further in the offseason (as many of us believe), Mr. Koehler could end up being the highest paid person on the Team next year...is this guy hanging out in Lonnie Chisenhall's basement or something?

I'm not certain what Tom does in his spare time. That said, I'm pretty sure Josh Bell will get a lot of money in his first arb year.

Do you think pirates view Will Craig as a Rob Deer/Dave Kingman type that either hits homeruns or strikeouts or they view him as a legit 1st baseman, he seems to be average to good in the field at 1st

They like him as a first baseman, problem is there is a big roadblock in his way by the name of Josh Bell

Are all hearts and minds clear? If so, I'll talk to you guys in two weeks. Jason Mackey has the chat next week and I have the mailbag.
