Think we’ll see Swaggerty sooner than later? Seems like a fast riser
nubyjas wilborn
12:44
he only has one season of pro ball! Let's see how he handles camp this year & some higher level ab's
Paul or Phil
12:44
If you had to guess, who has the better season Glasnow or Archer?
nubyjas wilborn
12:44
archer

I'm a fan from Panama, watching every season game since 2015, FO do not want to spend, and rely on youngsters overpreforming  and cheap pieces to do the same, why is it that they do not gamble in a big singing if they have the payroll space?
nubyjas wilborn
12:49
At least you're warm down there, Henry. Sadly, that's the economics of baseball these days. A lot of teams are trying to build this way.

12:49
How are Pirate season tickets sales going compared to where they were last year at this time?
nubyjas wilborn
12:49
I haven't tracked it, but I can find out.
Ben
12:49
Welcome, sorry about the fans that will never give this franchise a chance giving you a hard time, this team has a young core which i think can lead to a lot of excitement over the next few years, with that said, what are the odds of a Taillon extension this year?
nubyjas wilborn
12:49
No need to apologize, Ben, they
12:50
they are passionate. On the Taillon question I'll say a good chance. It
would be smart on both sides

It's always fun to mention free agent names and discuss. I know some were upset to see Galvis sign elseware the guy fans should focus on for the Pirate to sign is Marwin Gonzalez. Plays everywhere and could fill in at shortstop if the young options fail. If they succeed he can play all over the diamond and add some pop. What's your thoughts on Marwin Gonzalez
nubyjas wilborn
12:52
solid player won a ring with Houston. He's well liked and respected. Especially good with Latin players. He could work.

$12million a year for AJ Pollock (top 30/40 hitter in the game when healthy), $5million a year for RP Wilson...Seems like there are great pieces out there at reasonable prices.  Do you see the Pirates window for winning big as the next 2 years?  If so, why not spend some money now?
nubyjas wilborn
12:53
keyword, When healthy. There's also still time before camp and even in the spring.
Taillon
12:53
Considering my recent comments, I don't think I'll be accepting an early deal to buy out my arbitration years.
nubyjas wilborn
12:54
breaking news :)
Patrickj
12:54
Taillon and others say the owners are making way more money than the players.  What about a revenue split like the NFL and a salary cap?  Would the bigger problem in making it happen the players or the owners (big market teams not wanting to give up their advantage)?
nubyjas wilborn
12:55
there
is already shared revenue in baseball. I also think the players don't want a salary cap. The next labor agreement will be interesting.
Henry02
12:56
Too warm I'll say, I really like this core of players this year, and when Keller debut with that rotation and the excellent bullpen, I think we just need to Frazier and bell to play like we expect them to to be able to push for a playoffs spot. What do you think it will take for the team to reach that goal? And your thoughts on Dario Agrazal.
nubyjas wilborn
12:58
They have some talent that can grow together. I haven't seen Dario but clearly, he got a non-roster invite to camp so the team sees something in him. I want to see him.

If you can get a message to Neal Huntington, please tell him many of us are tired of him talking to the fan base like we are stupid.
nubyjas wilborn
12:58
I'll send him a screenshot.
Justin
12:58
Okay, let's rephrase it. I thought an extension was likely too, but the comments made me balk on that. Agree?
nubyjas wilborn
12:59
I was there when he said it & as a player rep, he's doing the right thing. Again, I also think if the offer is right, he might think differently.
Gunner Prince
12:59
Please tell Paul Zeise that the article he wrote the other day about PiratesFest / Spin Fest was excellent.
nubyjas wilborn
12:59
his head is big enough. nah.
Aaron

good job Henry
nubyjas wilborn
1:01
Henry will be doing good if he sends up a 6 pack of SPV from Animal Brew
Henry02
1:04
Haha. Thanks
Gunner Prince

Zeise is a big guy I'm sure / but the article I referenced was right on the money
nubyjas wilborn

he's good people & a good writer. Paul is one the reasons why we're one of the best departments around.

Assuming Jung Ho Kang is able to hit RHP as well as he used to, do you see him getting the majority of the starts at 3B for the Bucs in 2019?
nubyjas wilborn
1:14
that
1:15
is asking a lot but he will have a chance to win the 3B spot
