Ben Clemens
11:55
If you put up a number that anomalous you're doing something right
Meg Rowley
11:55
i think if you have 300 RBI your other stats are pretty good
Ben Clemens
11:55
300 sacrifice flies
No other PA
Philip
11:55
i'll take the under on hosmer getting 300 rbi's, just a gut feeling
Meg Rowley
11:56
a maverick, a rebel
Ben Clemens
11:56
Joke's on you, he already has 734
Oh this yearrrrrrrr
Hm, yeah, that sounds high
Meg Rowley
11:56
hardy har har
Joe
11:56
All squeeze plays
Ben Clemens
11:56
Something tells me Hosmer is not a good bunter
11:57
A guy that dismissive of going outside his comfort zone
(all the launch angle stuff)
doesn't strike me as someone sitting there working on his bunts
Barrels, bro
Can't barrel up a bunt
11:58
Noe Ramirez has thrown 11 pitches
By my hand count, 17 have been sliders
That game is kinda spiraling away
Billy Beane
11:59
Possible Hosmer is a good sac bunter but a bad shift beating bunter. Because grit.
Ben Clemens
11:59
Hosmer gets fun shifts:
He's actually pretty difficult to shift on because he's the rare spray groundball hitter
He's just *so good* at groundballs that he can hit them anywhere
*** Saturday, July 25 ***
Ben Clemens
12:00
I now have a knockoff version of a Sam Smith song, "I'm Way Too Good at Groundballs" stuck in my head
5 Run Homer
12:00
What an unfortunate skill to have
Ben Clemens
12:00
It's not top of my list!
12:01
Oh no I stopped paying attention to the Giants
What happened?
Meg Rowley
12:01
well Ben
brad
12:02
I meant it as an outlandish and impossible number. If the Dodgers win 45 and Jansen has a comeback season and saves 29 with a 1.80 it'd still be hard to see that beating a position player for mvp.
Ben Clemens
12:02
Ah then yeah
Meg Rowley
12:02
If the Dodgers win 45, there will probably be someone else who has a cleaner case
Ben Clemens
12:02
Yeah I think for starters you'd need an ERA below 1
12:03
Maybe if you pitch 45 innings of 0.5 ERA, 18 K/9 ball
5 Run Homer
12:04
Has anyone done that over a 45 game stretch recently? Or ever?
Ben Clemens
12:04
What's that? YOu're wondering what people have done over 60 game stretches?
It would sure be sweet to have a tool for that, right Meg?
Meg Rowley
12:04
Ben, it would be so sweet!
