Prasad answers, "An organization printed Hitler's diaries and they said they fact checked it with experts. But it was fake. Journalism is one of the most human aspect. Error is inbuilt on the exercise. In journalism product is different from people to people."

Prasad answers, "What is the role of FAANG companies in disinformation? i think it's huge. I have always believed since 2013, that there's a serious effort to subvert India's democracy and authority. What can we do to make these companies open up? We need to look into the algorithms and revenues of these companies. There's something dubious with their role in India's democracy. If Kashmir is blacked out, how the hell is Kashmir with Modi trending on twitter? We need to go back to the 1950s where the Bell Laboratories was the biggest company and they had to break it into multiple companies. Should we break these companies too?"

Kumar asks Shelley and Sinha to throw light on the same.
4:42
Sinha quips, "How many heads of states have been allowed the kind of audience that Modi had in the Facebook headquarters? There is a huge disinformation system in India and we have written many articles how disinformation systems can lead to riots. There is a bias here as to which disinformation system will be taken down and which won't. There is an Android app where you can put an image and it gives you information correlating to that. However, there is no app either in PlayStore and IOS where you could put images and it gives you the actual story."

Shelley expresses, "It's been my honour to be here. We don't get into business decisions. When organisations discover that they have peddled false information, they should come clean to the public and be 100% transparent as to how those errors were made and what will be done to prevent them in future."

Sashi Kumar ends the discussion by saying, "Thank you. At the end of the day the concept of speaking truth to power is a virtue, but unfortunately India is not recognizing the silent issues it has."
4:47
Kumar ends with a quote to underline today's topic of discussion, "When truth is silenced by a lie, it is not truth anymore."

This brings us to the end of today's discussion. Thank you for joining us!
