6:34
Reginal Chua opens by saying, "We did the same thing in Brisbane last year and Ben moderated it. And here we are doing the same." He says that AI is moving so quickly that we struggle to keep up. "We are trying to talk about News creation and distribution and how to work it out in a news room," says Chua.

6:37
Lisa Gibbs says "We started using this tech four years ago. To save time, the challenges have become more sophisticated. How news organizations adopt to these technologies we are just beginning to prime areas of this"
6:39
Lisa Gibbs has previously emphasized on the role of artificial intelligence in journalism during a meet at Dubai Press Club.
6:40
Ben Rudolph adds that the biggest shift from last year is really steep in terms of demonstration. He talks about developing AI tools that journalists can use and apply.
6:43
Reginal Chua then moves the discussion forward by saying "People talk about how to transcript automatically and how to find insights. Let's talk about how AI helps to do our work better".
6:44
6:47
Ben Rudolph has previously given a good account of how Microsoft is ready to take on journalism.
Lisa replies "This tech can help us create different version of stories for various platforms to talk about."
6:48
Chua then asks if a machine is writing, what's the role of the Journalist?
6:49
Gibbs answers, "Generally we don't have the philosophy of getting content automatically published and relationship is getting changed between reporters and editors with the adoption of these technologies."
6:50
Chua then tells the panel to talk about the personas that have been created using AI.
6:52
"Talk about the voice narrative and tell us how close are we to apply that to create a truly interactive experience with AI", Chua said.
6:53
Ben Rudolph chimed in "If we start to create different permutations and match that with different situations and it will be the next phase, like say sports."
6:55
Chua asks Rudolph to talk more about sports and how it can create that narrative experience.
6:56
Rudolph replies "Let's take Liverpool for example. I know my team and stats about it and all. That can be generated and fed into it."
6:59
Rudolph further added that when more generic questions like what happened today in the sport without mentioning a particular sport. It breaks the conversation flow.
7:00
He believes that they should start with depth of conversation and specific experiences.
Gibbs asks Chua how it has changed the version of story in his views.
7:03
Apart from this summit, Lisa has previously emphasized the importance of artificial intelligence in journalism at the summit held by International Symposium on Online Journalism (ISOJ).
Chua replies "The idea is that we should do multiple versions of the story for example like a baseball narrative, we can have a narrative version and short version which talks about just the result. The chatbot changes the definition of a journalists job."
7:04
In conclusion Chua says "Everything becomes a fact and there is no story telling".
7:06
