Absolutely not they need to get an impact player in this draft
Hipaul
12:39
Wentz traded.
Zeise
12:40
Yes and the Colts got a lot better. I like him and think he will be better than people think in Indy. I still think he is a good player and the Colts have a good team

Paul, a bit disappointed to see Pitt hoops so far this year. Capel appears to be able to recruit, coaching a bit iffy. What is his window in terms of getting them to the tourney, 2 years max ?
Zeise
12:41
I would say if he hasn’t made it by the end of year 5 his seat will be red hot
V. Fontaine
12:42
I think I might put the Immaculate Reception in the top five Steelers passing plays of all time.
Zeise
12:42
The question I believe was about Super Bowl passing plays and that play did not happen in the Super Bowl

Hi Paul!  Any idea why Malkin seems to be in a funk?  Undisclosed injury?  Personal problems?  Thanks!
Zeise
12:43
Nope it is a mystery but he better pull it together really soon because the Pens have no chance without him
George
12:49
Maybe Malkin would come out of his funk and get his act together if Sullivan benched him a couple of games.
Zeise
12:50
Benching a player like Malkin would make no sense and it wouldn’t do the trick. You pay him too much to sit him

Las Vegas currently has the Pens with better odds of making the playoffs than the Islanders.  What are they seeing that I’m not?
Zeise
12:50
Probably the fact that the Islanders are still at least one scorer short or really being dangerous
Mark
12:51
Why did the Steelers even sign Haskins if he’s not going to get a chance to compete for the starting spot..his pedigree is much higher than Rudolph ?
Zeise
12:53
Is it? They brought him in to kick his tires and see if they can get his pedigree out of him
Rhino
12:53
Paul, do you think the subpar play of Letang and Malkin are affecting their younger teammates?
Zeise
12:55
Only in the respect that the younger teammates playing on their lines are not benefiting from playing with them right now. Generally they make their team and teammates better. Right now they are not

Think the Pirates break the all time loss record of the 1899 Cleveland Spiders this year ?
Zeise
12:55
No I think they will not lose 135 games.....
Mark
12:55
Sorry Paul I didn’t explain..Getting a scholarship from Ohio state is much better than Oklahoma State not to mention he was a first round draft pick.
Zeise
12:56
I think the difference is negligible especially since Rudolph has been in this system

Guess I disagree with you on Wentz, Paul. He looked gun-shy to me last year, like late stage David Carr. We'll find out if he can recover from that. Meanwhile, I'm excited to watch Jalen Hurts in action. Was hoping he'd be the Steelers pick last year.
Zeise
12:58
Time will tell. Sometimes a change of scenery and spot on a team where you are wanted and appreciated and the unquestioned starter is all it takes to get the most out of a guy
Bert Jones

Any chance the Steelers bring back Bell on a cap friendly deal?
Zeise
12:58
I think that ship has sailed

It's now Thursday of the week after *the week after the SB" when Ben was supposed to meet with the Steelers, and Colbert is now dropping messages to Ben through the media.  Does this feel like its headed toward a messy ending?
Zeise
12:59
No I think they are just trying to feel each other out and Roethlisberger may be contemplating what he really wants to do
Billy Bats
12:59
Don’t the Steelers need to make Ben a take it or leave it offer soon so they can get on with business?  I think the fans would support cutting Ben loose if necessary.
Zeise

No they can work together and figure it out. They are just gonna make sure whatever they do it is right for all involved

I’m a big Duke hoops fan.  Duke has a young team and their current record reflects that.  Now, their best play has quit the team to focus on the NBA draft.  Do you this could become  a trend...good players on an average or bad team leaving if they don’t think their teams aren’t good enough to get in or win March Madness?  Thanks.
Zeise
1:01
No I think that this was a special situation. I don’t think the kid really ever had his heart in being at Duke. He should have went to the G League

Since we now down to one TE, do you see us bringing back the "The Outlaw" Jesse James ?
Zeise
1:02
I would bet they will at least inquire about him, sure why not? They need tight ends and they are familiar with his skill set

Does anyone know/care Vince Lombardi was a WW2 draft dodger!? You know, when actual fascism was threatening the entire world.
Zeise

You seem to be having a bad day

If the Steelers move on from Ben, and he still wants to play, can they restructure his deal and then trade him to ease the cap hit?
Zeise
1:03
Yes I think they could but I don’t see them trading him. They either want him retired or playing for rhem
Mike

Love your fresh takes Paul and no fear not falling in line with most reporters and their Ben worship. I appreciate all that 7 has done and there have been some great memories but we need to turn the page now, try to keep Bud, strengthen the OL, and draft a top RB. I can’t watch another 3-4 interception game from 7 again and the fans will be brutal on him this season. It’s a no-win for he and the team.
Zeise
1:03
Yes they can’t do any of that though if they don’t settle things with Ben Roethlisberger

Any way the Pens can trade for Fleury with Vegas and send Jarry to ease the cap hit or will it take someone like Malkin to be included in the deal?
