I think Kevin Newman and Bryan Reynolds are likely to take a little step back. I dont expect them to hit quite as well as they did last year. They will be fine, i just think year 2 may be a little toougher sledding for them. I think Josh Bell will take a step forward. Im not sure about the pitchers, to be honest

Why would no one hire Walt Harris after Stanford fired him? He ended up being a coordinator at Cal U? Why didn't an NFL or Power 5 team give him a shot as QB coach or position coach? I never understood this

i think the big thing is he didnt really pursue a whole lot. He was settled in to a life and im not sure he wanted to upset it by having to move again so it would have taken the right job to lure him back into it

Secondly, how could an umpire or the other team not hear the banging of garbage cans throughout the game and not be even a little bit suspicious? It seems to me that, similar to MLB and Bud Selig hiding their heads in the sand over steroids during McGwire and Sosa homerun battle, they chose to look the other way?

Well there is a lot of noise at games and Ive heard catchers say every so often they woulr hear the banging but usually it was drowned out by the crowd noise and they werent focused on it

Should Garrett be disciplined (suspended) again for perpetuating his lies and his defamation of Rudolph, the Steelers and the NFL?
Zeise
12:57
No, the NFL should issue a gag order on all parties involved and let it go away

all the steeler writers are saying keep Dupree one more year because there is no one to step in and fill that position.  Arent we in the exact same situation one year from now?  why not spend it on skills player you can keep for multiple years.  thanks for the chats!

Re: Dupree. Steelers don't use their backups, Oli and Tuzar, enough to know what they have.

I think another year gives the Steelers a chance to really take a look at the growth and development of those younger players. It also gives Kevin Colbert two drafts - this and next - to try and identify and draft a replacement. The other thing is the Steelers may only have one year with Ben and therefore they are gonna have to try and win now. A one-year deal works for Bud and for the Steelers

What do you know about the NCAA Pitt coaching violations announced today?
Zeise
1:02
Just had some extra coaches and practices. It is mostly minor stuff and some of it is so dumb i dont even know what rules they violated

Do the Pens make any more moves or is this the team we go with
Zeise
1:03
Yes, Jim Rutherford said he will make at least one more deal

If the batter could hear the banging of the garbage cans, how could no one else (catcher, umpire, first baseman)?
Zeise
1:04
The batter was focused on listening for the garbage can. If you arent focused on it then it is mostly background noise.

I like the idea of 7 playoff teams.  The league has expanded by 3 teams since the last time the playoffs were changed so it evens out.  The 17th game however i do not like  what is your opinion?
Zeise

I hate both. The NFL season is fine. And I hate having mediocrity rewarded with a playoff berth

OK thats it for this week thanks so much for all the questions and lets do it again next week
