Here we go, let’s get it started.....

At some point the Steelers need to plan for life without Ben. Don't we take a big risk drafting a QB when Ben is gone? Everyone talks about the team's needs but next year we'll need a starting QB.
Zeise
12:03
Since they brought Ben back they need to worry about winning in 2021 and nothing else. It has to be win now and that means they can’t afford to waste a high draft pick on a quarterback

12:03
Hi Paul if both Harris and Etienne and one of the top rated tackles are still on the board at 24 who would you take?
Zeise
12:04
The tackle you can get a good running back in the second round
RPK
12:04
The Pens' defense gives their opponents tremendous space in the defensive zone.  Why don't they play a more physical game?  Is it coaching philosophy, lack of grit or just unwillingness?
Zeise
12:05
Their game is predicated on speed and skill and moving the puck out of the zone. That’s who they are and what they do

Hi Paul. Now that Art II has decided to keep the band together it looks like the Steelers are going to be a "meh" NFL operation for at least the next two to three seasons. They'll win enough next season to end up mid-pack in the next draft, so finding impact players will be tough again.
Zeise
12:06
I agree this has .500 or slightly better written all over it. And that is a tough place to get out of

12:06
Do the Pens make a big move to replace Zucker, or hang on a few weeks and hope for the best? It isn't like he was lighting up the scoreboard anyway.
Zeise
12:07
I doubt it unless he is out for the season. They don’t really need to yet
Oh Canada?
12:07
Has anyone figured out where the Blue Jays will play their home games this year?
Zeise
12:07
Yea they are going to play at their spring training facility
LA Matt
12:08
What is the true story behind X Johnson’s decision to leave the Pitt program immediately? It had to be a conflict between him and Capel?
Zeise
12:09
Yes and that happens. He wanted to play point guard differently than Jeff Capel wanted him to play
LA Matt
12:09
Although I agree with you that Johnsonnwas never a good point guard, how much of his lack of development as one falls on him or the Pitt coaching staff?
Zeise
12:10
I think he developed as a player. He just didn’t have that true point guard mentality where he is looking to pass and set up his teammates first. He wants to score

Seems like the return of defensemen--esp. Matheson--has jump-started this team.  They add an extra set of options in zone entries that open space for the forwards. I like the chaotic-ness compared to previous stale/predictable movement!
Zeise
12:11
Getting healthy has been a big part of the Pens surge
LA Matt
12:11
Although I hope that I am wrong, I am starting to wonder about Capel and his staff? This will be three years in a row where the team regressed as the season went on. Good teams with good coaches get better as the season progresses, not worse!
Zeise
12:13
They took over an awful program. They aren’t miracle workers. Give them a little more time to recruit talent and build a roster. They are in the ACC and that means there are a lot of quality teams they have to battle to get to the top of the league

Hi Paul. Mason Rudolph can’t be too happy right now.! He’s in limbo and no way to earn a nice contract next year! What do you think is his trajectory if he rides the bench another year behind Ben? I still think he can play and might be better than Baker M or Lamar J in the long run!
Zeise
12:15
His best path is simple - sign an extension for like two years and be a little patient. His best chance at having a success as a starter is with the Steelers
Jay D
12:15
Is there any correlation between the Pen's improvement of play and the new front office hires?  If so, why do you think so?
Zeise
12:17
I don’t I just think they have gotten healthier, they found their game (it took them a few weeks) and Tristan Jarry is better
Bernard
12:17
Bama's Harris is the top RB in the draft but wouldn't Etienne's skill set fit in Canada's system even better if Harris is gone before Steelers pick?  The OL needs rebuilding but I don't know if the Stelers can win with any of the current RBs on the roster if they are truly going to recommit to the run game.
Zeise
12:19
There are far too many examples of good running backs selected in the second round or beyond for the Steelers to invest a first round pick in one. It would make no sense given all their needs
JR
12:19
Pitt FB projects to 8-4 or 7-5 your thoughts. Keep up the great work!
Zeise
12:19
I would say 8-4 has to be the minimum given what is coming back
Gino
12:20
Hey Paul...do you think the departures of Murphy, McGowen and now Johnson will have a negative effect on Capel’s recruiting?  Thanks.
Zeise
12:20
No and here is why: it is a transfer world these days. Every team has transfers and guys who leave and want to go elsewhere
Joe
12:23
Despite the Pens looking a lot better the last couple weeks, are they a threat to beat Boston and come out of this division as a Cup contender? I still don’t see them as good enough with the current roster
Zeise
12:24
i don’t think so. I think Boston is the one team that legitimately gives the Penguins fits. That’s a tough matchup for them.
Heidi
12:24
Hi Paul...anynews on Zucker’s injury?  Thank you.
Zeise
12:24
No not yet

12:24
Good riddance to Xavier Johnson. Agreed ?
Zeise
12:25
Pitt can’t afford to lose good players and he is a good player. However, he just never seemed to be bought into what Capel is selling and if he isn’t bought in then he does need to go
Crazy Legs
12:26
So of all the needs the Steelers have which do you think is the deepest in the draft ?
Zeise
12:26
It is a good draft for offensive linemen and running bacjs
V. Fontaine
12:26
Wouldn't you have to consider a playmaker on defensive player in the first round if someone slips? I'm thinking someone like Zaven Collins. Then take a OT in the second and RB later.
