Here we go - time to chat sports and whatever else. Let’s have fun and make this the best chat yet!!
Artie Bridge
12:02
Let's talk tight ends.  1) What's the consensus on Ebron's blocking? 2) Do you see his role as McDonald's challenger? back-up? partner in 2 te formations? 3) What's your take on McDonald as a blocker? and 4) Does Grimble have a future in Pittsburgh?
Zeise
12:06
Enron is not a good blocker. I think he and McDonald will play different roles and I see a lot of two tight end sets. Grimble is not coming back any time soon. I think McDonald will becomes more of a blocking tight end that catches passes while Enron is the main pass catcher

With the recent free agent signings and trade, do you see the chances of the Steelers drafting a running back increase?  If so, which back would you draft?  Thanks.
Zeise
12:08
I always thought they would take a running back but not until the later rounds. I still don’t see them taking one at pick 49 and I think they will basically do what they always do - take a flyer on a guy who has raw ability but maybe didn’t get drafted high because of his size or foot speed or not enough production etc.
Georgia Steeler

Paul , thanks for keeping dialogue going. I never thought I would say this but I miss getting up and going to work in the morning. And that's a bold statement for a 72 years youngster. Anyway when will hopefully, camp start for the Steelers ? And any new news on how #7 is progressing. Thanks
Zeise
12:13
I don’t know. I don’t know that anyone knows when anything will start getting back to normal. I would hope that by late July we are back to our normal lives and training Camps start on time but it wouldn’t shock me if training camps take place with no fans and very few media. That’s the world we live in right now. As for Big Ben all reports seem to be very good although they are all from him so who knows

Paul, Tomlin is 1-26 drafting DB, w the one being William gay, how does this happen? given his experience coaching Db?  its as bad as his replay challenges
Zeise
12:15
Probably because he likes the same kind of player at that position and so he picks a bunch of guys with the same profile. And that is something that needs to change because Joe Haden can’t play forever

I haven't heard anything from Mr. Rooney or Mr. Nutting expressing any concern for the virus or did I miss it. We need sports back ASAP but, healthy people first. I enjoy your honest opinions.
Zeise
12:16
I don’t know that either has spoken about it specifically but I do think both organizations have been involved in charity stuff to try and help out as much as they can. And there isn’t anyone who thinks this will end before it is safe to end so everyone is in a holding pattern

Hi Paul,  If a fast inside line backer is available at the 49th pick to match up with Devin Bush  I think the Steelers should take him. Your thoughts.
Zeise
12:18
All those moves that were made last week really gives them an opportunity to do just that. They now have flexibility to go with a linebacker or a receiver if they choose. I would still go offensive lineman because they are going to need players at that position in the future.

12:18
Hi Paul -- Should the Steelers have done more to back up a 38 year old quarterback with a bad arm ?
Zeise
12:22
The thing people are missing is this - they seem to have faith in Mason Rudolph. So if that’s the case they don’t feel like they needed to do anything to address it. I understand why people are nervous based on last year but there is no reason to be if the coaching staff is confident Rudolph can get the job done

Hi Paul
Weegie T
12:23
hi Paul -- All the talk about a big wide receiver -- I am available
Zeise
12:25
Weegie Thompson, now that is the way back machine. I loved Weegie though his legendary status because of his size was far more than his actual production on the field......

Do you know if the Steelers are working on a long term deal for Dupree now or are they more likely to wait to see how he performs this season?
Zeise
12:26
They say they are publicly but I can’t believe they are. How are they going to pay both him and Watt? That’s like $40 million tied up in outside linebackers. That is a lot of money for that position
tommy boy
12:26
I thought the Ebron signing was unnecessary, but its not my money, so I dont really care.   Ebron will be a red zone weapon tho, and that could pay off bigly.   Will Buggs get a shot to take Hargraves place?   He's a big dude, if he is quick enough, can he fill that role?
Zeise
12:28
There is no downside to the Enron signing. If he works out it will be a huge boost for them for not a lot of money. If he doesn’t they cut him at the end of the season and move on. And yes Buggs will be in the mix this year but I will be interested in seeing what the D line looks like coming out of training camp
Stevie
12:30
THanks for the chat Paul. If the Steelers take a running back, what style --- big inside pounder, fast perimeter attacker, good receiver, jack of all trades
Zeise
12:37
I think they have enough big pounder type running backs. I would love to see them get a really fast running back, a home run hitter that is a threat to break big plays every time he gets the ball in space
kett
12:37
why is everyone down on Mason R he was doing ok till he got knocked out, I think he could of won the Jets game till he got injured. Lets give fair chance.
Zeise
12:38
I agree 100 percent. I like what I saw from him in terms of progress until he got hurt. I think he will be fine if he needs to play
Steve in Ohio

II never really understood why the Browns just let Joe H go.  He seems lie a very good player, teammate, and citizen.  What am I missing ?
Zeise
12:39
Just like anything else - you can’t sign everyone. And I don’t remember the circumstances but I am assuming they felt like he wasn’t going to warrant whatever they were going to have to pay him.
Benson DuBois
12:39
Do you have faith in Rudolph as the successor to Ben?
Zeise
12:41
As I just wrote, I do. I think he is going to be OK. I think he will get better the next two years playing sparingly and working with Matt Canada. He won’t be a hall of famer but they will win games with him
John
12:41
Hi Paul big fan of your show on 93.7 FM. Can you see us re-signing Juju Smith Schuster and TJ Watt and Devin Bush. Or could you see an Antonio Brown situation all over again
Zeise
12:42
I think they will sign Smith Schuster. They already said they will sign Watt. I think with Bush it will depend on what his career looks like two years from now. The Steelers have proven they will pay their own guys for production.
Blackhawk Bob
12:42
Do you think the recruiting class for Pitt basketball will enable them to turn the corner next year ? I don’t feel the transfers will be that damaging to them. Good players bad bad fits for Pitt.
Zeise
12:44
Yes, they will take a step forward next year. They are adding some good players and they subtracted some players who seemed to not be great for the team dynamics. I don’t know that they will step all the way to where NCAA Tournament team but they will make a run at it

What are your thoughts on Chucks competing with AV for LT.If he loses out to chucks, can he play RT? Or is he a 8 Million buck up?
Zeise
12:46
I can’t see any scenario where Villanueva isn’t the starting left tackle if he is healthy. Chuks will be in the mix at right tackle
Jeff
12:46
Thanks for the chats Paul.  If Gentzel does come back do the Pens have cap issues?  Wasn't sure how that worked
Zeise
12:46
I don’t think so but I’ll have to ask our hockey writers and get back to you next week
Michael Cohen
12:47
I'll give you 10-1 the Steelers draft an outside LB in the 2nd round?
Zeise
12:50
10 to 1? So I bet you $100 and you pay me $1000 when it doesn’t happen? Yeah I’d take that....
