I don’t think so. I think he wants fully guaranteed money like a lot of other players have gotten and the Steelers don’t usually pay that way

This Nebraska story is interesting - how regularly does a new AD try to sink his inherited coach in such a hostile manner?  Very un-Nebraska like.

Has there been a worse remarriage of former hotshot player and college than Scott Frost and Nebraska? What a disaster that’s been

Who retires first, Ben or Brady?
Zeise
12:47
Ben will retire first because Brady is going to play forever. I’m starting to think Brady will be playing longer than guys like Pat Mahomes , Justin Herbert and even Justin Fields!

It just seems that every QB that comes from Ohio State is a bust.

Hey what are you talking about - Mike Tomczak was big time!!!

Do you think we should call the Suicide Hotline for Derek Shelton?
Zeise
12:49
He seems to be handling it fine. He probably has a very solid contract and job security so he is fine, I’m sure

Civic Arena's 60th Anniversary is next month. What was your first event....and best memory sports and/or music?
Zeise
12:50
First event there was a Pittsburgh Spirit soccer game. Favorite memory was in the 80s I went to a Penguins-Oilers game featuring Gretsky vs Lemieux. Best concert I saw there was probably Bon Jovi and Skid Row - Sebastian Bach Skid Row

From everything I have read I would say yes, there is no question  he is out long term and he is won’t see him
in A game until January

Hi Paul, I keep hearing how great Kevin Colbert is, but doesn't he have to take the same criticism as Tomlin, only 3 playoff wins since 2009. That doesn't = great to me. Their record last year & in 2017 were inflated by playing against back-up QBs. Plus four 1st round busts since '09...
Zeise
12:54
Good point. It is great to be able to manipulate the cap and whatnot and he has made some good moves and some good draft picks - but it is a bottom line business and the bottom line is not enough winning in the playoffs

The Steelers O-Line stunk last year. Team couldn't run and Ben got rid of the ball like it was a hand grenade. Couldn't have been worse...so why wouldn't it be better?
Zeise
12:55
It could and should be better. But until we see that unit out there together I’m not sure how anyone can know what it is or will be

Hi Paul. Steelers fans used to be considered amongst the most knowledgeable in the NFL, but I no longer see it that way. Just the questions about why they signed D. Watt to a 3m/per year contract, why are the draft picks not signed yet and even how “Tomlin won with Cowher’s players”…The list goes on and on. They can’t figure out that Watts salary replaced two players…ST’s AND FB? Or that draft picks are slotted so it doesn’t matter when they sign? Or that each coach earns their own success, even in early years? Have you noticed the fan base slipping?
Zeise
12:56
I think fans are fans and always have been and always will be. Steelers fans are no different than any other fans

Paul, there seems to be a line of thinking involving the Pirates that sounds like this, Yeah we stink now, but just wait until 2024, help is on the way.  But is help on the way?  Every team has prospects in the minors.  There is no rule that says you have to spend 4-5 years in the minors.  The Pirates need a bunch of guys like Harper, Strasburg, and Trout, that spent 10 seconds in the minors.  Your thought?  Thanks.
Zeise

That is a great point - are they gonna bring guys up when they are ready or play the service time game? That will tell us a lot about how serious they are about winning quickly. If they don’t bring their best guys up when they are ready that says a whole lot

It seems to me Berry would have to outplay Berry by a wide margin to make the team.  Agreed?
Zeise
1:04
I don’t think Berry has much of a chance even if he averages 80 yards a kick. They wanted to get cheaper and younger there and they have

Regarding NIL, which 5 college football teams project to be able to offer the best opportunities?  Also, regarding NIL will Pitt be hurt because of the Steelers' dominance?
Zeise
1:10
I think NIL will prove to be overrated as a revenue stream for most of these athletes.
As for which five schools - USC, Miami, Notre Dame, Alabama and Texas?

What is the coaching staff's obsession with Ray Ray McCloud? He had two decent runs on jet sweeps early last year and not much of anything else. I believe he is the reason Washington is ticked. He should not be getting more snaps than J.W.
Zeise
1:11
I guess they think he can maybe help out in the return game? I agree he is not really very useful but they like him

How bad is Kendrick Green and should the steelers cut him?   On "The Fan", it sounded like he is the worst center in the history of football.
Zeise
1:12
He is young and learning and talented. The question is can he be ready to play this year

What are your odds that I pull a Syd Thrift and resurrect the dead to the tune of a World Series by 2025? If I pull this off, I go down as a legend, correct?
Zeise
1:13
There are long odds against you. And yes, if you pull it off you will be a legend

The Steelers recent actions especially with handling the signing of Joe S at a low cap hit seem to indicate they are keeping cap room for a potential signing.  Any idea what position that may be?
Zeise

I would think it would be a corner

Am I bitter that that the man took away my green dot?  Is the bloom officially off the rose?
Zeise
1:14
No I think that you aren’t fully healthy yet and they want you to focus on getting healthy and playing fast again
PittHOG
1:14
What are Pitt's ceiling and floor win totals this season (football)
Zeise
1:15
Their floor is four wins. They would have to try to not win at least four games. The ceiling is probably 10 regular season games
1:16
OK that’s it for us, have a great week we will do it again next week
