It depends on how they want to use it - generally there will be some earmarked for facilities, probably some coaches salaries, some in the recruiting budget - that’s a big chunk of money and should really help

What's the plan to cover Stefon Diggs for two halves this time?
Zeise
12:41
Great question - it will be some combination of Joe Haden and Jason Pierre. He is a great player, he is gonna make some plays. You just try and minimize them

I've been in the skeptical camp about the Steelers' off-season decisions (but they did seem to have a very good draft). This train wreck of the offensive line and the lack of depth on the defense makes it seem that all of their plans to go for it one more time with Ben are going to be futile. I hope I'm wrong, but that's how it looks.
Zeise
12:42
I’ve liked everything they have done except the offensive line. I think the state they are in they could have avoided. But I like all the moves they made on defense

Just wondering if you heard the Fan’s afternoon drive cohosts’ feeble attempt to eat crow after Haskins was not named the backup after his performance against Carolina?
Zeise
12:46
I’m not sure who was more sad - Mrs Haskins or Poni!

Not steeler related, but why is everyone so quick to rid of Jimmy G in SF?  he was solid and still is...may be a bit injury prone, but what am i missing?  I like his game.
Zeise
12:47
He cost a lot and is not reliable. That is a bad combination in a salary cap league
pup
12:47
Overrated Current Pgh athletes:  Kenny Pickett.  Last year's steeler O-Line. This year's line doesn't have to do a lot to be better than them.
Zeise
12:48
I don’t think Pickett is overrated

12:48
Are you team Keopka or Team Dechambeau?
Zeise
12:49
No question Brooks Koepka. Bryson DeChambeau is a country club brat and represents all that is wrong about professional golfers. What a baby

Odds that Polanco bats .300 and drives in 90 runs for the Blue Jays next season?
Zeise
12:50
Roughly the same as me having a date with Halle Berry

If Kevin Stallings wasn't fired, would he have been able to muster 15 ACC wins in three years, like Capel?  I think so...
Zeise
12:51
I’ve made this point several times. The program would be further ahead if Stallings was kept around and supported. That being said the ceiling is higher with Capel and so we need to see if he reaches that potential

Who is the greatest Steeler player ever and why?
Zeise
12:57
There are a lot of right answers but the correct one is Joe Greene. It has to be. And most people who have been around the team for a long time will tell you that’s pretty much accepted as the correct answer universally
Utah Jim
12:57
If Joseph is activated who goes?  My guess is UG3.
Zeise
12:57
There will be a few moves still to be made. But that’s a good guess

Hi Paul.  Can’t say I’m surprised by Hayes’ hand injury.  It’s been a frustrating season for him with his wrist injury at the beginning of the season and his obvious frustration with the umpires on some strike calls.
Zeise
12:59
I wonder if this is just shutting him down because of what he means to the franchise. I wonder if he would be on her IL if they were in a  pennant race?
Tom

Washington surprisingly let go a pretty decent slot corner?  Any reason the Steelers didn't sign him
Zeise
1:00
I think they are in the market for a corner that can cover outside it anything.
Harry

Thanks for the "Nebraska" answer. Not being able to get the recruits they once did makes sense. I wondered if Penn State would have that problem when they went from being independent to the Big 10.

Have you heard any rumors as to possible signings of other teams' cuts for salary cap reasons that the Steelers can swoop in and maybe find a gem in the rough like Haden a few years back?
Zeise
1:03
I think Penn State going to the Big Ten was the best thing for the athletics programs. But they have never been the same as a football program annually among the country’s elite like they were in the 1980s and early 1990s. They have become a consistently good program with a much higher opinion of itself than is merited

Do you see the Pirates or Orioles get to a winning season first? My money is kind of on the Pirates as it seems like the O's front office and ownership is a bit of a mess.
Zeise
1:04
I will say the Pirates because at least they have a plan. The Orioles seem to be a total rudderless disaster that is miles and miles away from being competitive
Where’s My Clark Bar?

Hi Paul, do you buy into the notion, as it currently stands, the buccos farm system is one of the top 5 in MLB?
Zeise
1:05
Not sure how it could be that when the AAA and AA teams have very few guys who are on the verge of helping the Major League team
Sunner in Orlando

Regarding the vaccination issue, I know it should not matter but I believe it does if for instance your starting QB gets Covid and the backup who has not been vaccinated is considered a close contact must quarantine for 10 days, then you are looking at starting a 3rd string QB or like what Denver went through last year where they started a position player who had played a bit in college. I have to believe it was a factor in the Newton cut for the Pats. Do you possibly see the potential issues?
Zeise
1:05
Yes

What is your most pleasant surprise as it relates to the Steelers   after camp?  TE?  Pierrre, just curious as to the positive side.
Zeise
1:07
Jason Pierre is much better than I thought. Joe Schobert being traded for was a great surprise. And I will go one more - Kalen Ballage
Mercury

Is David DeCastro definitely through playing or are his injuries things that could be healing? He’s only 31.
Zeise
1:12
He is done for this year and seems like a long shot for him to ever play again

Is Pitt looking like a 9-3 or 8-4 team? Can an upset here or there get them to a New Year's day bowl or am I dreaming?
Zeise
1:14
A 9-3 season should be the minimum expected. There are eight games on the schedule they really need to win. And then four games against the top teams they need to get at least one
