Ok let’s get started!!!
Sunner in Orlando
12:09
Hey Paul thanks for the chats! I'm sure this will be asked frequently today but do you know how far apart the Steeles and TJ are on the signing bonus/guaranteed money?
Zeise
12:09
I think a lot on the fully guaranteed part. But their virtual guarantees probably are close to what he wants
Sunner in Orlando
12:10
Have the Steelers committed to who is starting on the offensive line or might there be some last minute changes at right and left tackle?
Zeise
12:11
For better or worse it is gonna be Moore-Dotson-Greene-Turner-Okarofor
Yuri
12:11
Hello Paul.  Are Comcast and the ACC Sports Network any closer to reaching an agreement?    Thank you Paul.
Zeise
12:12
i thought we were already there - it seems like I have ACC Network and I didn’t before
Sunner in Orlando
12:17
If TJ signs, can the Steelers fit Mincah in for another huge contract or will they wait on the new salary cap numbers before committing?
Zeise
12:18
Yes the new salary cap will be very friendly especially with Ben coming off the payroll
Mercury
12:19
I find some of the NFL pregame crews a little difficult to watch with their anything any of them says is hilarious acts. How would you rank the five network pregame shows?
Zeise
12:19
I’ll make this one easy - I hate them all and wouldn’t waste one second watching them

12:20
Hi Paul.  Do you know why Crosby and the Penguins agreed he should have surgery now rather than immediately after the season?  Thanks.
Zeise
12:21
They were trying to see if rehab would work. They knew they had time and OK he is out six-eight weeks, he will still play 65+ games

12:21
Good to know that the Steelers are laser focused on this weeks opponent as always, hold your laughter.  Will this team ever focus on the job at hand?  Just how focused is this team on the bills?
Zeise
12:22
They seem focused to me. I mean the Watt thing is far more talked about by us than them
Sunner in Orlando
12:22
Not that I want this to happen, but if the Steelers get fleeced on Sunday as Ben throws 3 picks and Harris rushes for 25 yards on 14 carries, does everyone hit the panic button? It may take a bunch of time to get this team going this year IMO and the hardest schedule to boot won't help.
Zeise
12:23
Probably because the Steelers fans like to hit the panic button. And if they win we will hear Super Bowl talk. That’s what I love about these fans
Sunner in Orlando
12:23
Awful news about Crosby's surgery. With he and Geno out to start the year, can the Pens hover around 500 until they get back or will they be digging themselves out of last place by the time they both get back?
Zeise
12:24
Don’t they do that almost every year?
The Dude
12:25
Shouldn’t the Steelers have tried to sign Josh Norman?
Zeise
12:27
No why do steelers fans want to sign every vagabond player and has been out there? They are in a good spot with what they have
Frank T.
12:27
Paul, do you know if Capel is close to getting any more commitments?  It’s nice that a lot of players have Pitt on their lists of schools that interest them, but that’s about as far as it goes for the most part.
Zeise
12:28
It has been very quiet on the recruiting front. This isn’t a big time of the year for recruiting. It is usually earlier in the summer
Sunner in Orlando
12:28
Pitt looked pretty good Saturday vs Umass but is that fool's gold? They seem to lose the games they are supposed to win like the game against the Vols on Saturday. I'm a bit concerned as I have seen Josh's offense close up down here in Orlando and I know it will challenge the Panthers. Does Pitt win in a blowout or will it be a nail biter?
Zeise
12:30
I wouldn’t say it is fools gold but you are right, this is a huge game for them. We will know a lot more about them Saturday than we do now
Chip Cache
12:34
What's going to happen in Knoxville on Saturday?
Zeise
12:34
If I knew that I would be living in Vegas

Paul, Love your radio show.  At a few bars I've been to lately, certain patrons tell me the Rooneys are cheap for not giving Watt "what he wants."  I try to explain that the Steelers spend to (or very near) the salary cap limit every year.  So, I ask them, how is that "cheap"?  Further, I tell them if the Steelers guarantee several year's worth of Watt's salary, that means salary cap money for those years is obligated to Watt even if he is injured or cut.  Which means less monetary flexibility to improve the team via free agency or to improve the team by re-signing productive players.  Am I wrong?
Zeise
12:36
They aren’t cheap they are going to make him the highest paid defensive player. It is a difference in philosophy about the guarantee money
Buffalo Bill
12:36
Hey, Paul.  I'd rather see your Stillers play my 2021 AFC Champions at least a month into the season.  Give both teams a chance to get their sea legs.  You with me?
Zeise
12:38
The flip side is both teams are at full strength. A month from now one of the two teams could have a few injuries
Jeffrey P.
12:38
Isn’t this “TJ Watt not being voted a defensive captain controversy” a bit overblown? If you only named one team captain, Cam Heyward would seem to be the obvious choice. Haden & Tuitt could’ve easily been named defensive captains over Watt too. Just seems like more unnecessary Watt drama.
Zeise
12:38
It isn’t a controversy

12:38
Paul, After following the TJ saga unfold over these past weeks (months?) I've come to the conclusion that the smart move is to not extend him, tag him next year, then say good-bye.  That would result in six years of service from him, at which time his skills will likely start to diminish and we can move on to other, more affordable, talent.  Your take?
Zeise
12:42
No they should sign him to a long term deal with their version of guarantees which is how it should go. He will get his money, it just won’t be called “fully” guaranteed
Sunner in Orlando
12:48
How much is Tuitt's absence related to the death of his brother vs his knee injury? And not to kick a guy while he is down but can the Steelers afford to keep Tuitt around long term as he clearly has a huge contract but has not played consistently to the level of the money he is being paid. And if the injury is long term, do the Steelers seek a trade for DL depth/help? I don't believe Wormley is a long term solution.

Hi Paul, which past sports or non-sports personality would you have liked to interview and which current sports or non-sports personality would you like to interview?  Thank you.
Zeise
12:51
I would love to interview Ghandi. What a fascinating life story he had. And of current people, wow, I would say there are very few that interest me. Maybe someone like Bill Belichick but I wouldn’t ask him about football
Rico
12:51
Ha ha you got owned on your sports show last Friday didn't you Paul. Rule #1 never mess with Rico. I'm sure you're too scared to show this but I'm glad I told you off live. You're the troll not me because you were against voting rights. I'll call you again tomorrow pal. Rico wins!
Zeise
12:52
Someone please call the local psych hospitals and tell them Rico is off his meds again
