Here we go let’s started
JR

Paul: i believe Pitt will face a fired up talented Clemson. If i were a bettor I would take Clemson and the points. What you say? Your work is the best on the PG
Zeise
12:05
Thanks for the compliment. The number is 4 last I looked at it and I think it is a field goal game so if it remains at 4 I would take Clemson
Mustard bowl is now heartbreak hotel

Hey Paulie! Any chance you and Rich Walsh can stop by the club for some tasty alcoholic beverages. Throw back some Jack or few brewski's.  Hey that is a south side staple. Either way make sure you bring WALLS!  Hi Amanda. Bottoms up!!
Zeise
12:06
It sounds like you have already started drinking

12:08
how realistic is it for steelers to think moving forwards with either rookie QB next year or with present QB’s on roster that they will not fall further behind playoff teams with playmakers behind centers?
Zeise
12:10
That’s a part of the cycle and it is how it is supposed to work. The teams at the bottom if they draft right and develop right have a chance to get into the winners circle. The Steelers organization is strong and I doubt they will go into the 2-15 wilderness that some predict

12:11
Will the Steelers EVER learn to tackle?
Zeise
12:11
Cam Heyward, TJ Watt and Alex Highsmith all seem to know how to tackle!
Hank
12:12
Will the Steelers pick up Bush's fifth-year option? To me, Bush has been a big disappointment. Steelers gave up multiple day two picks to select him 10th overall. That means he should be a difference-maker like Shazier or Polamalu. Only thing I see is an undersized ILB with poor instincts.
Zeise
12:12
They did it for Bud Dupree I would think they will do it for Bush. You don’t give up on a guy you moved up into the top 10 to get before you have to.
Jason

Hey Paul! Given your knowledge of Pittsburg sports what would be your next guess on when the next time the city wins a Championship and which team? Have a great day my friend!
Zeise
12:15
I’m assuming you mean national championship of some sort so Pitt football winning the ACC this year won’t count…. I actually think it will be the Steelers. They are gonna start rebuilding after this year. The Pens will allow their aging stars to hang around for ten more years it seems and as long as that’s the case they won’t be good enough. The Pirates, well, you know…..
The Real TP Hunter
12:15
Hi Paul. Cam Heyward seems to be getting even better with age, if that is possible. Perhaps he is the best Steelers DL since the Steel Curtain days?
Zeise
12:16
He is a beast, an absolute beast right now. He is really good. And you are right he is getting better with age
Mercury
12:16
Why was Russell Wilson, an inactive player,  allowed to call the overtime coin toss? It wasn’t some kind of ceremonial toss. His call could impact the game.
Zeise
12:16
I don’t think a guy has to be active to call the coin toss
Mercury
12:17
Did you see Malkin’s presentation of a milkshake to Mike Lange? I thought Geno did a good job with that.
Zeise
12:17
Yeah that was really cool. The respect the players have for Lange is easy to see

12:17
With Pickett playing lights out recently Pitt should beat Clemson on Saturday. (Who would have thought that would be possible a few months ago?) However, Pitt being Pitt, it will almost certainly drop a game it should win before the regular season ends. Which future game will be the heartbreaker?
Zeise
12:19
One of two: North Carolina. The Tar Heels aren’t good but they have a weird hex on Pitt and almost always find a way to beat them. And Virginia has the kind of QB and passing game that gives Pitt fits. Other than those two games I don’t see any way they lose to anyone else after Clemson

Any chance the Steelers (or anyone else in the division) can run down the Ravens for the divisional title? My guess would be no (barring an injury to the sensational Lamar Jackson).
Zeise
12:22
The Ravens, what about the Bengals?I think if Joe Burrow and Lamar Jackson are healthy, those two teams will finish first and second in the division
Utah Jim
12:22
Since Hargrave left, they have spent a seventh on Davis and a fifth on Loudermilk. That’s it. Huge miss? I believe the biggest issue with this defense right now is the line.
Zeise
12:23
Again, they don’t have Tyson Alualu and Tuitt. That’s two thirds of their line
artie bridge
12:23
Paul, the more I watch the Steelers struggle defending the run, the more I miss a dominant nose tackle, like Casey Hampton or Joel Steed.  I see this as a draft priority,  Your take?  And, in the meantime, who can fill that hole?
Zeise
12:24
When they had Alualu and Tuitt nobody was worried about their run defense. Injuries happen and are a part of it but it just so happened they got two on the defensive line
Former Hooper
12:24
How confident are you in Pitt and Duquesne having successful basketball seasons, and what is your assessment of Capel and Dambrot as coaches and recruiters in the current basketball climate? Lastly, do you think that it is outrageous that Lyke/Capel have again refused to schedule a game against the Dukes?
Zeise
12:27
Define success. I think Pitt was picked to finish like 14th in the ACC and Duquesne was picked to finish 12th in the A-10 or something like that. Expectations aren’t exactly high. I think both can have winning records and that would be a success and anything more is gravy. It is asinine that they don’t play each other
Scott
12:27
Is Alberto Riveron still the head of officiating? If so, why? That guy is a walking cluster screw.
Zeise
12:28
Someone can correct me if I am wrong - he retired at the end of last season didn’t he?
Kyle
12:29
Pitt Basketball was picked to finish next to last. If that comes true or worse is Capel coaching for his job in 2022-2023? What a disappointment he has been.
Zeise
12:30
If they finish last or second to last, yeah I would think he would be coaching for his job next year
12:31
That would be year 5, it doesn’t take four or five years in hoops where one or two players can change your fortunes
Bruce
12:31
Is Kenny Pickett a 1st round pick?
Zeise
12:32
I don’t know yet but I do know he is playing his way towards that. He is really becoming an excellent passer
Scott
12:32
Paul, I have noticed that your chats, and to a lesser degree your articles, are never displayed as prominently on the web site as those of your peers. Is this because your common sense views of the world are in stark contrast to those of your mega liberal media overlords? I can't imagine that your opinions play very well around the PG.
Zeise
12:32
Good question, I’ve never noticed and never asked but maybe I will
Next Coach
12:32
Everyone knows you are down on  Ben. The question is, are the Steelers more likely to win with either Rudolph or Haskins playing  quarterback? Remember that no one wanted Haskins and Rudolph lost his job to a guy called Duvky
Zeise
12:33
I think if a guy can’t run the basic passing plays because of his limitations he is holding the offense back. And right now Ben is holding the offense back
