Do you think the coach or GM has more impact on turning around a team? As an example, if the Browns could've hired either KC or Tomlin 5 years ago, which do you think would have more impact?
Zeise
12:36
That’s a tough one. My sense is the coach as long as he has a GM he works well with or that listens to him. If Tomlin were coaching the Browns he would have some say on personnel and a GM he can work with.

Paul, are the yinzers even going to give me a chance to show that I can be an acceptable 3rd pairing guy? Seems like the knives are out already. I’m thinking I should rent rather than buy. Your thoughts?
Zeise
12:38
You should rent, not because the yinzers but because the GM is trade happy and is always itching to send guys packing

Paul, can I pull a John Elway in this day and age and get drafted by a legitimate MLB team? And BTW, I have a really cool name, concur?
Zeise
12:39
The thing about it is you are gonna make the same money no matter who drafts you. And you are likely to play for one of those big money teams eventually anyway. So you might as well roll with it
Tiger
12:39
Paul, I took note of you falling off the TW bandwagon a few chats back. Keep in mind that spines are mysterious body parts. And Im mentally tougher than all these posers put together. Just some food for thought. Take care.
Zeise
12:41
Well Tiger is my favorite athlete of all time and so I’ve never jumped off his bandwagon. And I never will! Every time he plays I’m hoping he can pull it together for four days. He is the greatest of all time. Period!

All the bad press aside but it seems Ben has matured a little this year.  Seems to put team first then stats.  I know i have asked this before but any chance he restructures contract to keep Juju.  If he doesn't not sure how we keep him.  Thanks for the chats Paul
Zeise
12:43
I don’t think he can restructure his deal enough to help JuJu stay here. JuJu can say he will take a discount to stay but once the money is on the table  it becomes a different story.

Any announcement yet when the Bucs will honor the 1971 team ?
Zeise
12:45
Not that I have heard but doing the math, yeah that is 50 years next year so there is definitely going to be something to honor them

Paul, enjoy your work.  Who wins the debate tonight or does America lose another?
Zeise
12:48
Until we have a debate where Joe Biden is grilled by Laura Ingraham or Hannity or someone like that this is all a dog and pony show. It is ridiculous how much time and money has been wasted on this election, which is like a choice between bad Chinese food and getting diarrhea

How would you rate Alualu at this point? I think he has been excellent  and the drop-off  from Hargrave has been minimal. How will he hold up against Henry? I expect him to get a lot of snaps this week.
Zeise
12:52
Yes he has played well and one of the reasons the defense has been very good. There was some concerns about the front 7 but he has been a nice addition to the rotation

When fans, lots of them, are allowed in Heinz, will they yell "Eeeeee" when Ebron gets on a roll ?
Zeise
12:52
God I hope not!
Andy
12:52
I understand Devin Bush is a vital piece of the defense, but are we possibly overstating his importance?  He’s struggled with covering tight ends and it is only his second year. He’s still adjusting to the NFL and the Steelers defense. Is it crazy to think that a guy like Spillane can be good enough to win a Super Bowl?
Zeise
12:55
I think he is very important in the run game and his speed in the middle makes a huge difference. He will be missed.
Jeff
12:55
i clearly dont understand how restructures work but was thinking he could add a third year on his deal and take a hometown discount in year 3.  Ben that is.  He is playing like he could go another year
Zeise
12:56
If they were to restructure Ben’s deal he would have to get more years on it. And then there would eventually be a year where it would add up to a huge hit on the cap.

Vrabel obviously thumbed his nose at the Covid rules.  How much of it can be attributed to watching the feckless NFL slap the Pat's and Belicheat on the wrist for the better part of 2 decades? He is, after all, a Patriot.
Zeise
12:57
That’s a good point actually. He learned from the best when it comes to pushing limits and rules! That being said - his players broke the rules and he had nothing to do with it.

Paul, last time I checked, 18 is a bigger number than 15. And I had to beat guys like Palmer, Trevino, Watson, Player. No offense to Ernie and VJ, but let’s get real here, and lay-off on the Tiger is GOAT bs. Thanks much.
Zeise
12:59
Anybody who knows golf, really knows golf, and is objective will tell you Tiger was the better player with the better all around game. And the fields are deeper and tougher now than they ever used to be. The Major titles thing is only one measure of a golfer. It is like saying Trent Dilfer is better than Dan Marino, well you know the rest
Andy
12:59
If you were Pickett, why would you stay another year?  He has the potential to be a backup NFL QB in my opinion and I feel like staying another year could only really hurt his draft stock given that Pitt is most likely to be weaker than they are this year
Zeise
1:00
If I were Kenny Pickett I would not come back this year until I’m 100 percent healthy. Then I would look into grad transferring somewhere that needs a QB that throws the ball a lot. And I would try and improve my draft stock while playing in an offense that lets me throw the ball, has a good offensive line and wins

Paul, I know that my leadership and effort are beyond reproach, but why do my teams sometimes lay major eggs at crunch time? It’s the only blot on my record.
Zeise
1:02
I know this is a cliche but hear me out - the other teams have good players too. And I think your team’s biggest problem is that you are annually overrated and expectations are usually too high
Andy
1:02
Tomlin gets a pass from the media historically speaking and it often isn’t warranted. However, if the season continues do you think he should be up for a Coach of the Year given the low expectations of the Steelers from the media?
Zeise
1:03
I doubt he gets a pass. I don’t think he does actually. And yes if they continue on this path he will and should get considered coach of the year
Doyle37

Here's one to end on...crazy idea...should have signed LeVeon for RB and used Conor to replace Bush. Conor was pretty good at Pitt as an LB no ?
Zeise
1:03
No
He was a defensive end

Your analogy on the choices for election are hilarious and spot on.
Zeise

I mean seriously. 330 million people to choose from and we come up with these two? Come on man!
Thanks for all the great questions let’s do it again next week!!!
