Would signing Jamis Winston be better than drafting a QB in this year draft? Not a lot of college QBs looking better than Mason R.
Zeise
1:33
Why can’t the Steelers do both - go get Jameis Winston and draft a quarterback.

why can't Pitt recruit NYC basketball kids any more?  schedule a yearly game at the Garden.
Zeise
1:34
It isn’t just the Garden, Pitt has turned into a bad program and so it is hard to get kids to come play for a bad program

This OL is soft.  Is it lack of experience and too much thinking or did they overestimate the abilities of these draft picks.  These guys were supposed to be road graders, Their play has shown they're more bug than windshield

I agree which is why it is so strange that Zach Banner can’t get any run. He has to be better than Okorafor and Dan Moore

Stop with the Pickett-to-Marino comparisons, people, please. Marino was a generational talent; Pickett's ceiling is considerably less. Not a knock on the guy, I love his spirit and wouldn't mind seeing him with the Steelers, but he is not Marino.

I don’t think it is a fair to either player and they aren’t remotely similar quarterbacks other than they played at Pitt

He brings the wood and throws himself at the opponent... it isn't  sound and ineffective more often than not.

I would agree

My perspective on James Franklin has changed for good, and not for the better. I'm a PSU Alum who has been holding out hope that he would get us to elite status, and fretted about USC and LSU. Now I am hoping he does leave. PSU has a big checkbook and can get a top coach, IMO. Am I crazy to hope Urban is canned by the Jags and returns to the Big 10?

I can’t see Urban Meyer having another stop. This is it for him

Remember Fitzpatrick's electric int/return when he first got to the Steelers? He was also beat for 3 TDs in that game!

We get it to don’t like Minkah Fitzpatrick

Hi Paul.  Did Covid help this team, at least at the QB position.  The 2nd bye week had to have helped Ben get a little healthier (body wise) right?
Zeise

I guess we will find that out when he returns

As Bum Phillips said, there are only two kinds of coaches. Those that have been fired and those that are going to be fired.

Tell Greg from Shaler Penn State has lost 4 or more games in 16 seasons since 2000.  They are hardly LSU, Ohio State or the elite program they think they are.

No disrespect to Mac Jones because he is a talented player and should have a good NFL career, but he has benefited by going from the best college coach to the best NFL coach. He is in exactly the right situation to thrive.

How is that his fault? He has made the most of his opportunity

Hey Paul, The most important game at Heinz Field since 2010 when Pitt last to Cincinnati so what is your guess as to the attendance for the Virginia game? 40,000+ / 50,000+?
Zeise
1:49
Probably about 45K and the game at Heinz Field against WVU the next year was just as big as the Cincy game

I do think sometimes it is not the talent of the QB but the talent of the organEYEzation that ultimately decides on success.  You wonder how many QB's really  bad franchises have killed.

Of course that’s the case - would Ben be as good if he was drafted by the Bengals?
OK that’s it for me I have to run! Thanks for participating
