It seems like the rumors of Coach Tomlin going to Washington have died down.  But if Washington did want him and Kevin Colbert retires, do you think the Steelers might make Tomlin coach and GM to lessen the chances of Tomlin leaving?
Paul Zeise
12:43
No they have never believed in the coach as GM model. They would not do that. That’s just not what they do.

I really thought the Steelers would bring back Skipper. Any thoughts on why not?

were you as surprised as most people that the Steelers didn't attempt to pick up Skipper?

Is it a long shot to get into Playoffs as of now in your view? I say if we don’t get to 10-6 we are not? You?

How much does the Dolphins' extra motivation to make the Steelers lose on Monday night actually increase their chances of winning? (so the traded 1st round pick goes higher)?
Paul Zeise
12:49
I think way too much is being made of this. The Dolphins have both picks. If they win their pick gets a little worse and the pick they get from the Steelers gets a little better. And vice versa. So it is what it is - it will have no affect on the outcome of the game

Paul, So much talk from P-G sportswriters about the O-Line not being designed to run block. I don't understand this idea, since just a few years ago they could run block quite well along with pass protecting. They were considered among the top 3 O-lines in the league...thanks
Paul Zeise

I don’t think they aren’t built to run block, they just haven’t done it very well so far. They have the pieces to be a great an offensive line in the run game. They need to start living up to their hype.

Is there any chance some franchise just says "ah, screw this passing all the time",  gets 5 snowplows and some stud RBs, and a decent defense, and swings the pendulum back?  And saves a few hundred million on QB salary?  With all the 220-230 inside backers,  it must seem tempting.
Paul Zeise

Well it is working for Baltimore but they have the special kind of QB required to make that work. If the Steelers can find their Lamar Jackson maybe

Can you explain how a major league team can fire both its manager and its president but still retain its general manager despite losing records, poor drafting and even worse player development?

Wrong team, wrong chat (that being said it is ridiculous that the GM of THAT team has survived....)

Looking at our schedule I see AT LEAST 6 wins (MIA, split between IND/LAR at home, split with browns, Finish sweep on CIN, ARI, NYJ). That would put is at 8-8 and possibly chance to win the division. Hey, maybe one more win against someone not expected to beat will give us the North at 9-7. Thoughts?

I think 9-7 will get the Steelers into the playoffs. It likely as a wild card. The Ravens showed last weekend they are a legit playoff team and I think they will be 10-6. The Steelers won’t win 10 games as that would mean just about everything bounces their way but 9-7 seems like it is completely reasonable.
