Hey folks. Welcome to another chat.
6:01
I'll let some questions roll in, and get started in a few minutes.

Huge fan of the Trade Rumors sites. I've been following MLBTR for a couple of years and just recently started getting into PHR.........What should the Kings do about their offensive situation? I know we are tight on cap space but the whole waiting for Gaborik to rebound thing hasn't worked in the past and it's hard to see it coming together. Thanks!

Thanks for reading!
Part of the puzzle in LA is still to come when Carter comes back, as he's probably their best pure offensive player.
6:10
But they definitely will be players if they believe they can really compete in the playoffs.
They're not really that tight in cap room when it gets close to the deadline, and could realistically go after any of the big names.
Whether they have the assets or appetite to do that, is another story.

Do the Minnesota Wild make any kind of trade
Gavin Lee
6:11
I'd be beyond shocked if the Wild didn't make some kind of trade to at least rid themselves of a contract before the NCAA season comes to an end.
They are at 50/50 right now, and wouldn't want to delay signing Jordan Greenway any longer than necessary.
6:12
Looking at who it could be, Michael Russo of The Athletic mentioned Ennis, Foligno, Cullen and Stewart today in his mailbag, all of which seem like obvious options to move if they fall out of the race.

Hawks get a goalie if Crawford is out for season?
Gavin Lee
6:14
I wouldn't be surprised to see them go after someone, but the Lehner rumors don't make much sense to me. They'd be under some real pressure to move him out again in the summer, and end up being leveraged in negotiations by teams around the league.
6:15
More likely, they go after an expiring contract...perhaps Antti Raanta?
Dumb Question
6:15
Are KHL players also not able to participate in this years Winter Olympics?
Gavin Lee
6:16
They are, and the rosters of almost every team is littered with them.

Any chance Chara ends up on a different team than the Bruins next year?
Gavin Lee
6:16
Like I wrote in our UFA Power Rankings, I'd be surprised to see him anywhere else.
6:17
Weird things happen obviously, but I think he's a Bruin until he retires.

Can the caps make any moves
Gavin Lee
6:17
They've actually done a great job of banking cap space during the year by sending down Vrana and Bowey between games.
6:18
It's given them the opportunity to make a small add at the deadline, though it's not clear exactly what that will be.
They have around $1.9MM in deadline cap space.

Rangers buy or sell at deadline ?
Gavin Lee
6:19
So, all season there has been these out of place reports that the team won't be buying at the deadline.
Even in the first few months of the season, or even before that there have been inklings that they could trade McDonagh and Zuccarello.
6:20
It feels like it's been the same source feeding that information to all the different reporters, which makes me wonder if it's accurate.
This is just speculation, but I don't think they truly sell.

Since depth scoring  is so vital to win the stanley cup are the knights a serious contender seeing as how they have four really good lines that can score
Gavin Lee
6:20
Of course! I'm done doubting the Golden Knights. They're one of the top teams in the league, full stop.

Hey, Gavin.  What’s a realistic return for Michael Grabner should the Rangers decide to sell? Thanks.
Gavin Lee
6:22
I think he could net a second-round pick, similar to the Brian Boyle/Patrick Eaves/Ron Hainsey's of last year.
Grabner is a really useful player.
For a team that thinks they'll go deep in the playoffs, a late second isn't a huge price to pay.
If it's a bubble team, maybe a third.

Speaking of Goalies - what happens in St Louis?
Gavin Lee
6:24
It's funny. I thought Allen's extension was premature, and looked right in the first half of last season. Then he exploded in the second half and shut everyone up. Now it looks iffy again, with Hutton stealing the net.
I'm still not sure what to think about Allen, who has all the talent in the world but can't find the consistency.

Where does Montreal go from here?
