Hello folks, welcome to another chat.
I'll get things started in just a few minutes.
A busy night in the NHL!

Better defender: Bieksa or a traffic cone?
Gavin Lee
6:06
I've never seen a traffic cone that can punch like that.

What do you think jets will do with their goalie situation? Hutchinson is clearly to hot for the ahl? I know helly is clearly number one but do they keep Mason as number two with Hutchison so hot?
Gavin Lee
6:07
Mason is out with his second concussion of the year, I think the problem is taking care of itself.
Hutchinson is a perfect piece for them to keep just in case. Winnipeg is a real contender for the playoffs and would be a scary matchup for anyone in the first round.

Biggest move at TDL?
Gavin Lee
6:08
I'd say Pacioretty if it really happens. He's still an excellent goal scorer, with another year at a very reasonable cap number.
The Canadiens could get a big haul for him.
6:09
Biggest move that's almost guaranteed to happen? You'd have to think Evander Kane.
Buffalo will move him eventually, might just come down to the last few days.

Do you see the blues trading Kyrou?
Gavin Lee
6:09
Absolutely not, even though I wrote the piece about Seravalli's inclusion of him today.
We cover everything, but I would be floored if they move him for anything less than a star with years of control.
6:10
Kyrou is one of my very favorite prospects in the game though, which may be clouding my perception of him.

How is the Canucks’ rebuild going? Do you think they get Dahlin this year, and if not when could they realistically contend again?
Gavin Lee
6:10
They could definitely get him. We've seen teams jump up to the first overall more times than not (I believe).
6:11
But it's going extremely well I'd say.
They like the new coach, they have a pair of young stars in Horvat and Boeser, lots of talent coming with Gaudette, Juolevi, Pettersson and others, and no real cap issues now that the Sedin's are coming off.
They're in great shape to turn it around and get back into the playoffs within the next few years.

Do you see the Ducks making any more moves prior to the deadline?
Gavin Lee
6:12
I still think they'd like another forward, but we'll see if they want to weaken their prospect pool any. They have some nice pieces coming, but have spent a lot of capital in recent years.
6:13
Probably not a big splash. That was Henrique.
David
6:13
Now that Carolina has a owner willing to spend, what upgrades do you see forthcoming at the trade deadline?
Gavin Lee
6:13
Let's be patient with the "willing to spend" sign.
No owner is going to come in and immediately say "I'm going to reduce payroll across the board."
6:14
It's promising, sure. But until I see them really involved in a top free agent I'll wait to pass judgement.
Calvin Pickard
6:14
CALVIN. PICKARD.
Gavin Lee
6:14
Never stop.

Hey Gavin, what do you think the Kings will do between acquiring a forward or a top 6 D? Also, should we be worried about Quick (again)
Gavin Lee
6:15
Remember that they'll be getting back a top-6 forward in a few weeks when Jeff Carter returns.
That's a huge boost to that team as they push to get back into the dance.
6:16
I don't know if they'll really go after any of the impact guys, though obviously there has been rumors before about Kane.
In terms of Quick, I don't think you should be worried at all.
Sounds very minor.

6:17
Nash Grabner what do U think Rangers can get for them
Gavin Lee
6:17
I can't really imagine either one would be worth a first-round pick at the deadline.
Seconds, sure, depending on how the details of the trade go down. Middle prospects, totally.
