I've seen the Ducks mentioned when talking about JVR< Nash, Vanek and a few others...think any of those could actually happen? Also, does Ritchie still have decent trade value with his recent play? I know many fans are frustrated with him, especially his untimely penalties. Thanks!

I thought there was a fit with Anaheim-Vanek during the offseason, and he could still probably make an impact on their powerplay.
JVR I don't believe will be moved, and Nash will be too expensive for the Ducks to go after I believe.

I know this is a long way away but if Fleury plays well next year (which is his contract year), what do you think they do with him in free agency? See if he will come back for a situation like Philly with him and Subban as a 1A and 1B thing?

He's been great in Vegas, and why not stick around to finish your career. It's not like he'll have an opportunity for that many more years elsewhere.
With Subban still being just out of his ELC, they could both be fit under the cap.
Or, not ELC.
He must be on his next contract by now. Either way, won't be very expensive.

Hard to name surprises though, otherwise they wouldn't be them.
Still I have my eye on Winnipeg to move a forward out, and Damon Severson's path in New Jersey has been interesting this year.

Should  Arizona  land the number one pick in this year's draft.  Dose that make OEL expendable? If so do they move him at the draft?

You know, I've read this a bunch. If they get Dahlin, then OEL is expendable.
I'd just like to point out to everyone that we have absolutely no idea if Dahlin will be effective in the NHL.
There have been plenty of young players dominating at various levels--yes, even at the European pro level--before struggling in the NHL.
That can be for a lot of different reasons.

Even if he DOES become a superstar though, the idea of moving out one All-Star level defenseman because you have another one on a cheap deal is kind of crazy.

Think the Ducks bring in some Defensive depth? I have my doubts that Beauch and Bieksa can hang for a deep playoff run (if it happens)

I think they are ready to go in with that group. I'd expect them to make a small move up front instead.

I am not totally sold that the Penguins will actually go after the rental player like they've been attached to.
