5:15
Howdy everyone.
5:16
As usual I'll let some questions come in for a bit before starting. How about that Pittsburgh-Winnipeg game last night?
5:17
We can talk about anything from the deadline to the expansion draft though. SinBin is also doing an AMA on Twitter, check them out for some Vegas info.
5:29
Hmm. Price has the flu too.
Eric
5:33
Who could u see the sens targeting as an offseason acquisition?
Gavin Lee
5:34
They could re-open that Duchene talk once the season ends, since Turris only has one year left. They need help in the middle if he's not going to stick around. I wonder if they could ask Tampa about Johnson before the draft.
They'll likely try to add something on the wing, but they don't have a ton of money to work with.
A long playoff run would help in that regard.
Ryan
5:34
Nolan Patrick definitely number 1?
Gavin Lee
5:34
Not definitely at all.
5:36
Nico Hischier is making a push for the top spot, but even though I like him a lot I'd probably still take Patrick,
The Memorial cup might have something to say about it, as will which team wins the lottery.
5:37
If Vegas has the top spot, they'll take Patrick without a doubt. Kelly McCrimmon, their AGM is the one who drafted and developed Patrick in the WHL.
Josh
5:37
What are some under the radar trades that could look good at the end of it?
Gavin Lee
5:37
Trades from this year?
5:38
I think Patrick Eaves for a second round pick is a great deal for Anaheim.
Brian Boyle cost a second.
5:39
I thought Korpikoski was going to be a nice fit in Columbus, but he's barely even playing there.
Maybe he'll have an impact in the playoffs.
Hampus47
5:40
Will Eaves re-sign in Anaheim?
Gavin Lee
5:42
No way to tell that yet, but they don't have much room in Anaheim. They'll be one of the busier teams in the summer moving contracts and pieces around.
He definitely fits there.
Ryan
5:44
Vegas gets the first pick?
Gavin Lee
5:45
They get the same odds as the third-to-last team. I think that comes out to around 10%.
Though, now that I think about it if neither of those teams get picked I'm not sure who selects first.
5:46
I would imagine it's Vegas, as they get the 3rd pick in all subsequent rounds
Yotes
5:47
Chances that the leafs make the playoffs
Gavin Lee
5:47
Probably like 40%?
5:48
They are definitely talented enough, but fighting off the Islanders, Flyers, Lightning and Panthers will be tough.
Especially if the Bolts get Stamkos back soon.
5:49
They get there chance tonight though. Have to win this game against Philly in regulation.
5:50
But really, I'm sure everyone is watching the Devils-Avalanche game tonight.
That's clearly the marquee matchup.
Yotes
5:52
Speaking of the Avalanche why would they look to move landenskog of McKinnon
Gavin Lee
5:52
I still would be blown away if they moved MacKinnon.
5:53
I know Terry Frei said it today (or yesterday?) but I'm not sold on it.
Landeskog makes a lot of money for what he brings. Leadership maybe, but look at how the team has crumbled.
5:54
He also has a no-trade that kicks in after next year, and escalating actual salary.
Ryan
5:55
Did montreal add enough?
Gavin Lee
5:56
Enough to beat whoever ends up on the bottom of the Metro? No. Unless Price stands on his head I think they're out in the first round, unfortunately.
