Hey guys, welcome to this week's chat.
Lots of stuff going on today.
Buffalo fans, yay or nay on the Bylsma/Murray firings?
5:18
I'll let a few questions come in and answer in a minute.
Justin
5:23
Do you see there being any 3-0 comebacks this year?
Gavin Lee
5:23
I sure hope I see one. But that is impossible to predict.
5:24
I don't think any of the first round leaders will get taken out.
Which is definitely an eye-opening feeling for Chicago and Minnesota especially.
Sens
5:24
Does Ottawa protect Ceci in the expansion draft? He's looked lost all year and I hope widemans passed him on the depth chart.
Gavin Lee
5:25
They almost certainly will protect him. I imagine they'll get Phaneuf to waive and protect both Ceci and Methot.

We'll see what Vegas values in the Borowiecki vs Wideman decision.

I bet Vegas takes 3 goalies NHL starter caliber goalies. Darling, Grubauer and Fleury/Murray, with the notion of trading one. Thoughts?
Gavin Lee
5:30
Well they can't select Darling, as he's a UFA. They could sign him though.
5:31
It is a prevailing idea though, that they'll load up on some goaltending.
Calvin Pickard from Colorado is another one to watch.
Though I'm still not convinced that they'll protect Varlamov over him.
5:32
If I were Vegas, Grubauer would 100% be my selection from Washington, but I'm still not sold on taking Fleury and his big cap hit.
5:34
I shouldn't say they can't take Darling. They can..they just won't waste a pick on him if he won't sign. They have a window to talk to UFAs before the draft.

5:35
What type of a career do you see Ivan Barbashev having for the blue note
Gavin Lee
5:36
It's tough to predict his whole career, but he has impressed the people in St. Louis so much this season that he is going to be in their top-six next year without a doubt.
I think he has an easy shot at 20 goals next year.
5:39
Whether he plays in the middle or on the wing is another story. St. Louis loves guys who can do both though.
Josh
5:48
Think the Ducks and Eaves will work out a deal in the summer, or will other teams offer more $?
Gavin Lee
5:50
They would love to keep him, and will do all they can. But they can't afford to get into a bidding war.
They have almost no room next year for anything, and still need to find a competent backup for Gibson.
5:51
Laine, Matthews and Werenski are the Calder finalists as expected.
Sorry Pittsburgh fans.
5:52
My personal expectation is Matthews wins it in a wash.
Dino
5:53
What do the Flames do in the off season?
Gavin Lee
5:54
Sign Ben Bishop, re-sign Michael Stone, extend Brad Treliving.
Jake
5:55
If Fowler and Vatanen both were to be healthy in round 2 and everyone else was healthy, how would the defense shake out, surely Lindholm, Fowler, Vatanen, and Manson are in, then after that Theodore has been good in the playoffs, and Montour has been pretty solid, though it seems Carlyle won't scratch Bieksa for whatever reason.
Gavin Lee
5:55
It does sound like they're both going to go in round 2. Bieksa as you say will not be scratched.
I think despite how well he's played that Theodore comes out.
5:58
Hmm. Foligno is out for tonight.
Rough way for a captain to end the season if it goes that way.
6:12
Everyone saw that save by Maatta right?
Bill
6:15
Who off the Blackhawks roster is most likely to end up in Vegas?
Gavin Lee
6:16
Most likely is Trevor van Riemsdyk
But it could also be Kruger, Pokka or as above, Darling if they sign him.
Kevin
6:16
Does Bylsma ever coach in the NHL again?
Gavin Lee
6:17
He definitely does.
