Do you support analytics or do you think it's ruining the game? Coach got fired for disagreeing with analytics, I think analytics can be a joke. Thoughts?

I definitely think it is not ruining the game, because there is nothing that stats can do to ruin anything. They're just stats.

On that though, the way that is pits smart people against each other is definitely causing problems in front offices and coaching staffs. It is amazing to me that people can be so divided on something, when something like corsi is just the same as +/-, just counting shots attempts instead of goals.

I do think that there is still a ton to learn about how to apply analytics to player scouting, development and coaching systems--there isn't just some list you can pick from to make the best team.

But guys who stand by corsi (or fenwick) shouldn't be saying that in the first place.
