Hey folks. Welcome to another live chat.
5:17
Lots to talk about today, but how about Marc-Andre Fleury? If you're Vegas, does this run make you sure he's your starter next year?
I'll let some questions roll in.

5:21
Are the Maple Leafs Stanley Cup contenders within three seasons
Gavin Lee
5:22
You have to think they're long-shot contenders next season, and real contenders the year after that. Their forward depth is incredible, with even more wingers coming fast and furious.
5:23
They need help on defense, sure...
Rob Soulier
5:23
Any truths with rumours regarding Tor and Doughty??
Gavin Lee
5:23
But it won't be Doughty, at least not this summer.
5:24
They might be players for him in 2019 when he's a free agent, but there is no way they get him in trade at this point.
DeadeyeFM
5:25
Best player (that may be available) taken by Vegas in the expansion draft besides Fleury?
Gavin Lee
5:25
This was asked last week as well, and I said my favorites are Grubauer, McNabb, Dumba.
5:26
There are a fair number of defenders that will likely be available.
Robert
5:26
What do you think Tampa does? I would rather them move Johnson instead of Drouin because Point is a younger, more affordable Johnson.
Gavin Lee
5:27
I've said since before the trade deadline that I think Johnson will be moved, but it is starting to sound like he might stick around long-term.
5:28
I think he and point could co-exist on that team, especially now that Filppula is gone.
There are enough minutes to go around for the centers still there.
DeadeyeFM
5:29
Which defenseman should the Leafs try and acquire (trade / free agency)?
Gavin Lee
5:30
You'd think at this point it would have to be a youngster. Much has been written about the Leafs going after expansion fodder--McNabb/Dumba/Manson etc
But remember that would mean exposing Connor Carrick, which I'm not sure they want to do.
5:32
I'd be calling Washington constantly to see if I could pry Orlov out, because they have so many players to pay this summer.
Hawks
5:32
How can the hawks afford this panik deal?
Gavin Lee
5:32
Honestly, I have no idea.
I've written here multiple times that they wouldn't be able to re-sign Panik.
5:33
Even at $2.8 they have no room for him. I was expecting them to move on.
They must have some plan to rid themselves of a contract like Hossa/Seabrook.
Or perhaps a deal with Vegas to take Kruger.
Robert
5:34
Would it be realistic for Tampa to move Callahan's contract? Perhaps use their 1st and package Callahan to Vegas for a 3rd or something like that?
Gavin Lee
5:34
It's certainly possible to move, but I wouldn't be giving away my first rounder to do it.
Jason Garrison's deal would be easier to get off the books, and would give them enough room to sign everyone.
Robert
5:35
They might have to. Nearly $6mil for a 3rd line winger
Gavin Lee
5:35
It's a terrible deal to be sure.
I just don't think spending that much to move it is a good idea.
5:36
Even just buying him out is probably better than wasting your 1st.
EJ
5:36
do you think the Canes can use some of their depth on the blue line for a top 6 center? Any potential targets to look at?
Gavin Lee
5:37
I do think they move someone this summer. They'll likely be linked to Duchene again.
They seem like the perfect fit on paper with Colorado, who want young D for him.
Hawks
5:37
Do the caps trade ovechkin? What can they get for him?
Gavin Lee
5:37
They're not going to trade him, at least for a long time.
Rich
5:38
Can the Bruins move spooner for anything?
Gavin Lee
5:38
They could definitely get something for him, and likely will move him this summer. That relationship seems like it has come to an end.
