I'd imagine Ryan Murray is dealt somewhere
Green/Tatar/Nyquist in Detroit, depending on what happens the next month or so.
6:26
With the Kings season going so well, the Muzzin/Martinez buzz is gone.
I still wonder about Galchenyuk, even with his improved play.

If you were Ottawa, what do you do with Karlsson? Internal budget can’t really support a $12+ million player but lacking attendance can’t possibly survive losing EK(definitely if he walks).
Gavin Lee
6:27
So, I wrote about this today a little bit, but here is my wild theory for what will happen.
They'll sit on Karlsson until an arena is confirmed downtown and the process has started, and then move him.
6:28
The team still has its foothold in the city, attendance (as you point out) will bounce back, and they get the assets from a near-rental Karlsson.

Now that the Preds have traded Girard, who are the next D-men in line?  Anyone with top 4 potential?
Gavin Lee
6:29
I suggest you tune in to the World Juniors this year and watch Dante Fabbro control the tournament for Canada.
6:30
That group of defensemen is ridiculous. If they pair Clague and Fabbro together, watch out.
Topi
6:31
Who would you pick for your all star teams?
Gavin Lee
6:32
Tough to list them all, but my captains would probably be Stamkos and Wheeler.

It sounds like Elias Petterson has been tearing up the Swedish league as a very young man.  A Swedish scout threw out a Forsberg comp today, which is insane.  But does it look like Vancouver may be a step closer to contending than maybe we all thought?  Could his development buy Benning an extension?
Gavin Lee
6:33
Boy I didn't like that pick when they made it.
I thought Cody Glass was a no-brainer.
6:34
But you're right. He's basically the best forward in the entire SHL, and he's a child.
I can't see why that by itself would buy him an extension, but Benning has done a lot of nice things recently.
The Green hire seems to be very popular, and netting Goldobin and Dahlen last deadline helped.
Bill
6:35
Do you think he's can break through and become a top 10 player, sort of like Kucherov has?
Gavin Lee
6:35
Pettersson? Way too early to call him a top-10 guy, but he's certainly swayed my mind early.
Ron Duguay
6:36
What is a fair return for Karlsson as of today?
Gavin Lee
6:36
Almost impossible to tell, really. But a ton. An absolute ton.
Willy
6:36
Bruins playoffs or no?
Gavin Lee
6:37
Going to be a dogfight with the Canadiens, Senators and Red Wings. A lot will depend on what they all do in terms of rentals.
Bill
6:37
Do you think the Have try and get some help up front, especially down the middle, especially since Bergevin is nit afraid to go for it and save his job?
Gavin Lee
6:37
I think Have=Habs in this case.
Yes, I think they'll do something to add to this team.
6:38
It's not like it's built for a rebuild.
The Atlantic is so bad that even a .500 team might make the playoffs.
Chuck
6:38
Do you believe Sakic is still actively trying to make deals to improve the blueline?
Gavin Lee
6:39
Definitely, though "active" may not be the right word for it. I don't know if he's hammering the phones looking for a trade, but they're still after young talent back there.
Connor
6:39
Will a Seattle team see a similar expansion draft/acquisition process to Vegas or will they make changes?
Gavin Lee
6:40
There will likely be slight changes. The biggest problem Vegas had was that there were basically no waiver-exempt players available. They brought it up very early in the process but it was never fixed.
I believe it will be, after the bad PR received with Shipachyov.
But, get ready for that whole saga all over again around June 15th, 2020.
Jeff
6:40
Does Holland go after the season?
Gavin Lee
6:41
I was discussing this with Nate Brown, one of our other writers the other day. Both of us agreed that the early play of the kids might have saved him.
6:42
Detroit probably needs a fresh outlook, but it hasn't been the disaster that many outsiders (including me) thought it would be
slash1001
6:42
What are Houston's chances of landing a team now?  With expansion likely out of the picture, would the NHL allow a team to relocate or keep the zombies going in Phoenix and Miami (won't say Ottawa but maybe there too.)  And does this basically mean Quebec City will never get a team back?
