What are we to make of Nashville? It seems they’re turning the corner and getting production from their big money guys, but are they a legitimate contender?
Gavin Lee
6:21
Hey they keep winning, I don't know how to criticize them anymore
6:22
I don't really understand where Duchene and Johansen regained their powers, but good for them
(Also Juuse is a god, apparently)
Sneak
6:22
Hear any possible names for Canadian Olympic team
Gavin Lee
6:23
Guys like Eric Staal, Jason Demers, Devan Dubnyk probably provide the backbone of veterans
But then it'll also have Owen Power, Kent Johnson, Mason McTavish (if ruled eligible)
6:25
Spooner, Weal, Fehr, etc will be the old NHL names that fill it out
(Not necessarily those guys in particular, but they'll be in the mix)
Dreadful
6:25
Do you think there are any untouchables on the Flyers rosters now when it comes to potential trades? I would think Couturier, Farabee and Hart, but could also see any or all of them being moved if the price is right.
Gavin Lee
6:26
I think I'd probably add Provorov and York to that group you mentioned, but basically no one else
6:27
Guys like Zamula also won't be moved unless something crazy happens, but in terms of NHL roster guys, those five are what I'd call untouchable
Now who knows, if the management changes
There will be real changes in Philly eventually, but don't think it'll be at the deadline or anything
Canadian guy
6:28
Is relocating canadian teams in the US because of covid really a thing?
Gavin Lee
6:28
I very much doubt that will happen in the NHL

6:28
odds that Hertl remains a shark?
Gavin Lee
6:28
Honestly at this point i'm not sure.
I believe both sides are open to it, but it's going to be a big number at this point
And he's only a few months away from seeing what that number really is
Adam
6:29
Thoughts on Rossi's start?
Gavin Lee
6:29
I think it's a kid that lost an entire development year
He's not ready, but that's not his fault
He'll get there
6:30
Still have very high hopes for him
Broten
6:30
I see where Eric Stall signed in Iowa for a few games, then to Olympics, do Wild have thoughts of signing him after?
Gavin Lee
6:30
He certainly is hoping for an NHL contract after the Olympics, but I'm not sure it will be in Minnesota
Let's see where his game is

Can you explain how the knights acquiring Ryan Kesler's contract helps with the cap? I don't understand how unless a contract goes the other way how that helps with cap relief
Gavin Lee
6:31
It doesn't really, except in a very specific circumstance.
6:32
I'm not trying to put anyone down but that Pagnotta article was mistaken on a few things
When you put a player on LTIR, it doesn't create cap space
That for some reason has become a widespread belief
6:33
It allows you to go over the cap by a certain amount--but the contract itself is still on the cap, meaning it's essentially a wash
The idea of LTIR is to allow a team to replace the injured cap hit, not add extra guys because they're also paying out an insured contract
6:34
Adding Kesler doesn't get the Golden Knights any closer--unless they had someone like pacioretty that was going to sit out the whole year
Oneal
6:34
Do think Seattle has a bright near future, or are we looking and long process
Gavin Lee
6:35
Depends on what they do with the guys they have
If they're serious about trying to contend with this core, it will be a long process
They should be trading anyone they can
