You lose Suter, sure, but Parise wasn't even really part of the equation anymore anyway

Okay so I can't go into the whole thing right now, but you don't just get cap space by acquiring a LTIR contract
As in, it's not just--add Brent Seabrook and now you have an extra bunch of room

The way you can take advantage of some of those loopholes is if you're already in LTIR and you acquire more on top of that

I think you mean Sam Reinhart first, and then Sam Bennett second

I think at some point in training camp or maybe the start of the season, they're going to try Reinhart beside Barkov
There is real belief that Reinhart has a whole other gear that might be unlocked in the right situation

I know the Flyers needed to improve their defense, but their offense dropped off dramatically last season as well. Why don't they take a chance with Gusev? Something...anything?

I mean there should be enough offense there. I think the hope is that with improved D, the offense can rebound
Atkinson can score goals better than Voracek, so maybe that helps

correct, sorry, i should have been clearer. he was the #1 passing  center draft eligible in the world, and Buffalo moved him to wing. Granato moved him to center and viola.the real sam came out. hes listed as Barkovs wing in their depth chart and bennett as #2 center.. i still dont get the trade with sabres having the huge cap problem to solve. is Levi really that goodz?

The funny thing is that his passing actually didn't really come out after they put him in the middle. He was the scorer down the stretch
I just think the hardest thing in the entire NHL probably is moving to the middle full-time after playing the wing for so long

I have a hard time believing it would be in Florida's best interest
But at the same time, I kind of think Bennett is a better winger too
So I don't really know how it will play out. But I'm pretty confident in saying that Barkov-Reinhart will be tried at some point

As for Levi, there is zero evidence that he will be an NHL-caliber goalie. Whoever tells you different is kidding themselves, he has so far to go and so much to prove still.
Not saying he won't, but the idea that he's some super prospect after a great World Junior is crazy
