Hello and welcome to another live chat!
I'll let some stuff come in and get started in a few minutes

Is Vladdy going to NYI? He’s gotta get moved right?!
Gavin Lee
6:08
They keep saying that they're okay starting training camp with him, but I still think he'll be moved at some point.
Some of the short front office vacations will be ending soon, meaning we might get some more action
No idea if he's going to the Islanders, because they won't talk about anything

How do you feel about Alexander Holtz and Dawson Mercer’s upside?  Do you see them both working out as bonafide top 6 players?   Or, in Mercer’s case, a potential very above average third line centermen?
Gavin Lee
6:10
There's not much doubt in my mind that Holtz is an NHL player, but I had him ranked lower than 7th because I think there's a very good chance he's not a first-line player.
I think he'll settle into a middle-six+powerplay role
6:11
For Mercer, again he's going to play, but I'm not super high on him.
6:12
I don't think "very above average" third line C is a guarantee at all
But there's certainly a chance he gets there.
Need to see him play some pro hockey--that kind of role doesn't really show well in junior

When do you see the market picking back up for the remaining UFAs out there? Will we see any action before training camps?
Gavin Lee
6:13
Lots of guys will sign in September. Even just before camp or once camp starts and injuries happen
But there aren't a ton of roster spots left
Tough market for the guys who are out there

What kind of contribution to expect the Blues to get from young players Kostin and Perunovich this season? Seems like Kostin could be a good bet for regular ice time but Perunovich is a bit of a mystery after missing last season.
Gavin Lee
6:14
I think you've nailed it. I expect Kostin to land a full-time role at some point this season, but Perunovich is a mystery even to the Blues
The good thing is they don't desperately need him at this point
6:15
Their group is deep enough to get by even if it takes him a while to get his legs under him at this level
I also wouldn't be surprised if the entire season is spent more as a development year than anything else. By that I mean, if you told me the Blues made the playoffs and Perunovich wasn't in the game 1 lineup, I wouldn't be surprised.

What forwards out there do you have an eye on who were bottom-6 guys before who might get an extended look in a top-6 role this season?
Gavin Lee
6:17
That's an interesting one for sure
6:18
Dube, who signed today, is one
Kyrou in St. Louis should get another bump in ice time
6:20
The Bruins lines will be interesting to watch with Krejci gone
Mason Appleton in Seattle
6:21
Looks like Toronto is going to try some combination of Bunting/Kerfoot/Mikheyev/Ritchie on the top two lines
6:22
A player like Ross Colton or Alex Barre-Boulet could land a top-six spot in Tampa
6:23
How about Warren Foegele in Edmonton

Way-Too-Early 2022 draft question: Are you all in on Shane Wright as the obvious top guy in this class? Is there anyone who could potentially surpass him? (Personally I like Brad Lambert quite a bit)
Gavin Lee
6:24
I don't know if I'm all-in I guess, but he's certainly my top ranked prospect right now
6:25
Lambert is a good suggestion for someone who could pass him, but you'll probably hear more in the next 6 months about the pair of Russians
6:26
Miroshnichenko and Yurov
6:27
Wright is in a class by himself right now though. Probably one of those years where people overthink it, and then he just ends up being the pick anyway
NJ Devils
6:27
Should we get another top 6 winger ? And who ?
Gavin Lee
6:27
There's no rush
6:28
You'll need room for the young players soon enough
If this group shows something, sure--add a guy at the deadline for a playoff push
